The NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System is a network of independent, cooperating, acute-care and community hospitals, continuum-of-care facilities, home-health agencies, ambulatory sites, and specialty institutes in the New York metropolitan area. , the System was the largest receiver of Medicare payments in the United States. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, along with Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons run the system. Each hospital in the system is an affiliate of either of the two medical colleges. NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital, frequently referred to as Hudson Valley Hospital or simply NYP/HVH, is an accredited non-profit hospital with 350 physicians and 1,300 employees in Cortlandt Manor, New York. History Hudson Valley Hospital was first founded in 1889 by the Helping Hands Association in the City of Peekskill after a group of women raised $1,800 to purchase property on lower South Street. Cooperstown is a village in and county seat of Otsego County, New York, United States. Most of the village lies within the town of Otsego, but some of the eastern part is in the town of Middlefield.
