Protected Area
Protected areas or conservation areas are locations which receive protection because of their recognized natural, ecological or cultural values. There are several kinds of protected areas, which vary by level of protection depending on the enabling laws of each country or the regulations of the international organizations involved. Generally speaking though, protected areas are understood to be those in which human presence or at least the exploitation of natural resources (e.g. firewood, non-timber forest products, water, ...) is limited. The term "protected area" also includes marine protected areas, the boundaries of which will include some area of ocean, and transboundary protected areas that overlap multiple countries which remove the borders inside the area for conservation and economic purposes. Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary
Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary ( Khmer: ដែនជម្រកសត្វព្រៃកែវសីមា) is a protected area of mixed seasonal tropical forest in eastern Cambodia, located in Mondulkiri and Kratié provinces. The area was first established as Seima Biodiversity Conservation Area in 2002, later becoming Seima Protection Forest in 2009, finally becoming Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary in 2016. Sambor Wildlife Sanctuary ( km, ដែនជម្រកសត្វពសំបូរ) is a protected area located in eastern Cambodia created in 2018, covering 50,093 hectares. Prey Lang
The Prey Lang Forest (; km, ព្រៃឡង់, ) is a forest in Kampong Thom, Preah Vihear, Kratie and Stung Treng Provinces in Northern Cambodia. The forest covers an estimated 3,600 square kilometres (1,390 square miles). It is one of Southeast Asia's last remaining lowland evergreen woodlands. Prek Prasab Wildlife Sanctuary
Prek Prasab Wildlife Sanctuary ( Khmer: ដែនជម្រកសត្វព្រៃ​ព្រែក​ប្រសព្វ) is a 12,770 ha protected area in eastern Cambodia, located in Kratié province. The area was formally protected in October 2018. The area is of particular importance for the endangered hog deer ''Axis'' is a genus of deer occurring in South and Southeast Asia. As presently defined by most authorities, four species are placed in the genus. Three of the four species are called hog deer. The genus name is a word mentioned in Pliny the Eld ..., (''Axis porcinus''), with an estimated population 84 individuals.
