Walton County is a county located in the north central portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 83,768. It is located about 30 miles east of the state capital, the city of Atlanta. Monroe is the county seat; Loganville is another major city. It is located both one hour east of Atlanta via US 78 and GA 138 to I-20 and east of Hartsfield–Jackson International Airport and is one of the exurban cities in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Social Circle is a city in southern Walton County, extending into Newton County, in the U.S. state of Georgia, 45 miles east of Atlanta. History It is unclear why the name "Social Circle" was applied to this place. Between is a town in Walton County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 402. History The first permanent settlement at Between was made in the 1850s. Between was incorporated in 1908 by an act of the Georgia General Assembly. It has been suggested by many that the town is called Between because it is equidistant to Atlanta and Athens. It is also between Walton County's two largest cities, Loganville and Monroe.
