Museum Of London Group
The Museum of London Group is a public body based in the City of London. Since 1 April 2008 it has been funded jointly by the Greater London Authority and the City of London Corporation. Prior to this date it was jointly controlled by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the City Corporation. It comprises: * the Museum of London at London Wall in the City of London; * the Museum of London Docklands on West India Quay, near Canary Wharf; * the London Archaeological Archive and Research Centre, (LAARC) located in Mortimer Wheeler House in Hackney. City Of London
The City of London is a city, ceremonial county and local government district that contains the historic centre and constitutes, alongside Canary Wharf, the primary central business district (CBD) of London. MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) is an archaeology and built heritage practice and independent charitable company registered with the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA), providing a wide range of professional archaeological services to clients in London and across the country. Canary Wharf is an area of London, England, located near the Isle of Dogs in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The Greater London Authority (GLA), colloquially known by the metonym "City Hall", is the devolved regional governance body of Greater London. West India Quay
West India Quay is an area in the London Docklands, London, England. It is immediately to the north of the West India Docks and Canary Wharf. The warehouse at West India Quay was used to store imported goods from the West Indies, such as tea, sugar and rum, and is now a Grade I listed building. Amenities Museum of London Docklands is in West India Quay, inside one of the two remaining traditional brick warehouses in the West India Docks, as is 1 West India Quay. The Museum of London Docklands (formerly known as Museum in Docklands), based in West India Quay, explains the history of the River Thames, the growth of Port of London and the docks historical link to the Atlantic slave trade.
