Mongolian National Olympic Committee ( mn, Монголын Үндэсний олимпийн хороо) is the National Olympic Committee representing Mongolia. History The Mongolian National Olympic Committee was established on February 26, 1956, and sanctioned by the MPRP Central Committee and the Council of Minister of the People's Republic of 2-joint 42/37 on April 26, 1956. It has since become an independent non-government organization in order to comply with the International Olympic Games Charter and Rules. Initially, national sports associations were established to promote development and participation by youth and adults. These then evolved to focus on participation in international sports. Mongolian athletes have been involved in regular games in Asia since 1972 and have participated in 13 Winter Olympic Games and 12 Summer Olympic Games. The 2030 Asian Games ( ar, دورة الألعاب الآسيوية 2030, Dawrat al-ʼAl‘ab al-Asīawīah 2030), officially known as the XXI Asiad ( ar, الـ21 من الآسياد, Al 21 mn-Alīsyad) and commonly known as Doha 2030, will be the twenty-first edition of the Asian Games, a pan-Asian multi-sport event that, to be held in Doha, Qatar. Doha was elected as the host city at the 39th OCA General Assembly on 16 December 2020 in Muscat, Oman. These Games will be the second Asian Games to be held in Qatar, the second in Arabian Peninsula, the first of two consecutive Asian Games in Arabian Peninsula, the following Games set to be the 2034 Asian Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 2029 Asian Winter Games
The 2029 Asian Winter Games ( ar, دورة الألعاب الآسيوية الشتوية 2029), officially known as the IX Asian Winter Games and commonly known as Trojena 2029, will be the ninth edition of the Asian Winter Games, a pan-Asian winter multi-sport event to be held from 30 March to 11 April 2029 in Trojena of Neom, Saudi Arabia. Trojena was elected as the host city at the 41st OCA General Assembly on 4 October 2022 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This will be the first Asian Winter Games held in Saudi Arabia, as well as in Arabian Peninsula. It will also be the first winter sporting event held in an Arabic-speaking country. The 2025 Asian Winter Games (), officially known as the 9th Asian Winter Games, and commonly known as Harbin 2025 ( zh, s=哈尔滨2025, labels=no), will be the ninth edition of the Asian Winter Games, a multi-sport event held from 7 to 14 February 2025 in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. This will be the second time that Harbin will host the event and third time China hosted the Asian Winter Games. 2017 Asian Winter Games
The 2017 Asian Winter Games ( ja, 2017アジア冬季競技大会, 2017 Ajia tōkikyōgitaikai) was the 8th edition of the Asian Winter Games. They were hosted in Sapporo and Obihiro in Hokkaido, Japan. These Games were originally scheduled for 2015, however, in the Olympic Council of Asia's general assembly in Singapore on 3 July 2009, the committee decided to move the Games to one year before the Winter Olympics moving forward. The games began on 19 February with the opening ceremony (the curling and hockey events begin the day before) and ended with the closing ceremony on 26 February. Sapporo and Obihiro were named as the host cities on January 31, 2011, as the sole bidding cities. The hosting contract was signed by Tsunekazu Takeda, the president of the Japanese Olympic Committee. It will be the third time that Sapporo will host the event and fourth time in Japan. 2011 Asian Winter Games
The 2011 Asian Winter Games ( kz, 2011 жылғы қысқы Азия ойындары, 2011 jılğı qısqı Azïya oyındarı) was a multi-sport event that was held in Nur-Sultan, Astana and Almaty, Kazakhstan, that began on January 30, 2011, and ended on February 6, 2011. It was the first time that Kazakhstan hosted such a large event since independence from the Soviet Union. The documents for the hosting city were signed in Kuwait on March 4, 2006. Preparation Costs Kazakh Minister of Sports Temirkhan Dosmukhambetov notes the 726 million USD for construction and renovation comes from the 2008 state budget. The 6th Asian Winter Games () were held in Changchun, Jilin, China from January 28 to February 4, 2007. The Winter Games are a celebration of Winter sports in Asia. This was the second time that China hosted the Asian Winter Games; the first was in Harbin, Heilongjiang in 1996. Preparation Preparation for the games began four years before the event. 1999 Asian Winter Games
The 4th Asian Winter Games ( ko, 제 4 회 동계 아시안 게임, je 4 hoe dong-gye asian geim) were held from January 30 to February 6, 1999, in the province of Kangwon (Gangwon), South Korea. The games were staged in three different clusters in the province which were Yongpyong, Kangnung (Gangneung) and Chunchon (Chuncheon). The name Yongpyong was derived from the Yongpyong Resort. On December 2, 1993, the Olympic Council of Asia announced that South Korea would host the 4th Asian Winter Games in 1999. South Korea initially aimed to host the previous 3rd games but losted the voting process and the 1999 games are awarded for the country. The 3rd Asian Winter Games () were held from February 4 to 11, 1996 in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. North Korea's Samjiyon was the original host for the games scheduled in 1995, but withdrew in August 1992. After the withdrawal, South Korea and then China submitted bids respectively. The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) decided to elect the host cities for these 3rd games and the next 4th games simultaneously.
