Menderes, İzmir
Menderes is a district of İzmir Province in Turkey. Overview Menderes district, which is notable for its satsumas, beautiful bays and historical riches, is from İzmir. The antique city of Lebedos is situated in the western corner of the district in Ürkmez locality. Ruins of Kolophon, Klaros, Notion and Lebedos, which are along the Menderes- Selçuk road are next to each other and make up the important archeological sites of the province. Gümüldür municipality is the region that produces the world-famous tangerine breed of satsumas. Özdere is one of the important tourism resorts of the Aegean coast. Beads of various colors and shapes which are produced by the locals in Görece village are particularly of note. Büyük Menderes River
The Büyük Menderes River (historically the Maeander or Meander, from Ancient Greek: Μαίανδρος, ''Maíandros''; tr, Büyük Menderes Irmağı), is a river in southwestern Turkey. It rises in west central Turkey near Dinar before flowing west through the Büyük Menderes graben until reaching the Aegean Sea in the proximity of the ancient Ionian city Miletus. The river was well known for its sinuous, curving pattern, and gives its name to the common term used to describe these characteristic bends in rivers. Modern geography The river rises in a spring near Dinar and flows to Lake Işıklı. After passing the Adıgüzel Dam and the Cindere Dam, the river flows past Nazilli, Aydın and Söke before it drains into the Aegean Sea. Adnan ( ar, عدنان, 'adnān) is the traditional ancestor of the Adnanite Arabs of Northern, Western, Eastern and Central Arabia, as opposed to the Qahtanite Arabs of Southern Arabia who descend from Qahtan. His ancestry can be traced back to Abraham and from there to Adam and Noah. Origin According to tradition, Adnan is the father of a group of the Ishmaelite Arabs who inhabited West and Northern Arabia; he is a descendant of Ishmael, son of Abraham. Adnan Menderes Airport Rail Station
Adnan Menderes Airport railway station also referred to as just Airport ( tr, Adnan Menderes Havaalanı, Havaalanı) is a railway station in southern Gaziemir. The station is served by regional trains heading to southwestern Turkey, operated by the Turkish State Railways. The station allows a connection for people between planes at Adnan Menderes Airport to direct train service into İzmir. All regional trains stops at the station. Adnan Menderes
Adnan Menderes (; 1899 – 17 September 1961) was a Turkish politician who served as Prime Minister of Turkey between 1950 and 1960. He was one of the founders of the Democrat Party (DP) in 1946, the fourth legal opposition party of Turkey. He was tried and hanged under the military junta after the 1960 coup d'état, along with two other cabinet members, Fatin Rüştü Zorlu and Hasan Polatkan. One of the accusations brought against him was of him ordering the  Istanbul pogrom against citizens of Greek ethnicity. He was the last Turkish political leader to be executed after a military coup and is also one of the four political leaders of the Turkish Republic (along with Kemal Atatürk, Süleyman Demirel and Turgut Özal) to have had a mausoleum built in his honour. Meral Menderes (1933 – 27 December 2011) was a Turkish opera singer as soprano. Early life Meral Menderes was born in Kuşadası of Aydın Province , western Turkey in 1933. She took her first singing lessons from Münir Ceyhan at Istanbul Municipal Conservatory. She further was educated in the newly established Opera Studio. She was mentored by foreign and Turkish voice coaches. Career Menderes debuted on stage on 19 March 1960 performing in the opera ''Tosca'' by Giacomo Puccini staged at the 1959-established Istanbul City Opera. Menderes Samancılar (born 1 May 1954) is a Turkish actor. Life and career Samancılar was born on 1 May 1954 in Adana and is of Kurdish descent. He won the first prize in a photonovel competition organized by a newspaper in 1974. He starred in more than twenty photonovels within two years. He made his cinematic debut in 1975 with a role in Yılmaz Duru's movie ''İnce Memed Vuruldu''. Until 1998 he appeared in more than 80 movie productions. In 1998, he was cast in Claude Lelouch's movie '' Hasards ou coïncidences''. He subsequently continued his career in television. Menderes Mehmet Tevfik Türel (born 11 July 1964, Antalya, Turkey) is a Turkish politician of the Justice and Development Party (AKP). He was the mayor of Antalya from 29 March 2004 until March 2009, and once again from 30 March 2014 to 8 April 2019.
