Weetman Harold Miller Pearson, 2nd Viscount Cowdray, (18 April 1882 – 5 October 1933), styled The Honourable Harold Pearson between 1910 and 1927, was a British peer and Liberal Party politician. Felton "Corky" McCorquodale (August 23, 1904 – November 23, 1968) was a professional poker player, noted as the person who introduced Texas hold 'em to Las Vegas, Nevada, Las Vegas in 1963. Poker had been legal in Las Vegas since 1931, but Texas hold 'em was not played. In 1963, McCorquodale introduced Texas hold'em at the California Club (casino), California Club in Las Vegas. Bertram Stanley Mitford Bowyer, 2nd Baron Denham, (3 October 1927 – 1 December 2021), was a British Conservative politician, hereditary peer, writer and former member of the House of Lords. Alastair McCorquodale (5 December 1925 – 27 February 2009) was a British athlete and cricketer. McCorquodale was educated at Harrow where he opened the bowling for the 1st XI in the 1948 Eton v Harrow match at Lord's. He represented Britain in Athletics at the 1948 Olympic Games in London. He was denied a bronze medal in the 100m final by a photo finish, but won a silver medal in the 4 × 100 m relay. He never ran again. He also represented the Free Foresters, Marylebone Cricket Club in 1948 and Middlesex in three matches in 1951, as a left-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler. He toured Canada with MCC in 1951–52. He was the seventh oldest living Middlesex first-class cricketer prior to his death. Sir William Forbes of Callendar (1743–1815) was a prosperous coppersmith and landowner who lived in Callendar House in Falkirk, Scotland. Biography Forbes was a self-made man. The son of an Aberdeen merchant, he began work as a coppersmith and won a government contract to sheath ships' hulls in copper.
