Matthew Ryan (born November 7, 1971) is an American musician, singer and songwriter, born in Chester, Pennsylvania and inspired by such artists as U2, The Replacements, and Leonard Cohen. He logged several years in a series of bands before signing with A&M Records as a solo artist in 1996. '' No Depression'' magazine has described him as "Equal parts Springsteen, Westerberg and Ryan Adams, Ryan is a powerhouse of a storyteller for almost two decades. A forefather of the Alt-country scene, Ryan has yet to receive as much commercial success as some of his contemporaries." Matthew Ryan (born 13 June 1988) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played as a or for the Parramatta Eels in the NRL, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in the Super League and the Bradford Bulls in the Kingstone Press Championship. Matthew Ryan (born 23 June 1984 in Sydney) is a retired Australian rower, a dual Olympian and Olympic medal winner. Ryan competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where he won a silver medal in Coxless four. In London 2012 he rowed in the Australian men's eight which placed 6th. Education Ryan began his rowing at The King's School, Parramatta and was in the school's 1st VIIIs of 2001 and 2002 who won the AAGPS Head of the River. The 2001 crew contained future Australian senior national rowers Nicholas Hudson and Sam Loch, and went on to win the Barrington Cup and be crowned National Schoolboy champions. Matthew Ryan (born November 12, 1983) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played for several teams in Europe as well as the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL. Playing career As a youth, Ryan played in the 1997 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Richmond Hill, Ontario. Undrafted, Ryan played junior hockey with the Wexford Raiders of the OPJHL before committing to a collegiate career at Niagara University of the College Hockey America. After posting 19 points in his freshman year, he left in his following sophomore year for the higher level of competition in the Ontario Hockey League. Matthew Morgan "Matt" Ryan, OAM (born 3 June 1964 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Olympic-level equestrian rider. He is a triple Olympic gold medalist who competed for Australia. Matt has three older brothers, including the internationally successful eventer and dressage rider, Heath Ryan. In 1984. he travelled to Britain to train with the great Richard Meade, before returning home the following year, and then went back to the UK in 1989 to set up a stable.
