Massasoit Community College
Massasoit Community College is a public community college in Brockton, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1966 and named for Massasoit, the Great Sachem of the Wampanoag. Massasoit Community College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education. Athletics Massasoit is a member of the NJCAA, in which it has won three national titles: Men's Division II Baseball (1993) and Men's Soccer (1986 and 1987). The college currently offers varsity sports in women's and men's soccer, women's and men's basketball, softball, and baseball. Jim Craig (ice Hockey)
James Downey Craig (born May 31, 1957) is an American former ice hockey goaltender who is best known for being part of the U.S. Olympic hockey team that won the gold medal at the 1980 Winter Olympics. Craig had a standout Olympic tournament, including stopping 36 of 39 shots on goal by the heavily favored Soviet Union in the 'Miracle on Ice', as the U.S. won 4–3, in what is widely considered one of the greatest upsets in sports history. The Columbus Crew, formerly known as Columbus Crew SC, is an American professional soccer club based in Columbus, Ohio. The Crew competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the league's Eastern Conference and began play in 1996 as one of the 10 charter clubs of the league. The New England Revolution is an American professional soccer club based in the Greater Boston area that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), in the Eastern Conference of the league. It is one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, having competed in the league since its inaugural season. Jim Mann (baseball)
James Joseph Mann (born November 17, 1974) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball between 2000 and 2003 for the New York Mets, Houston Astros, and Pittsburgh Pirates. A right-hander born in Brockton, Massachusetts, Mann grew up in Holbrook, Massachusetts. During his senior year in 1992, Mann led the town's high school baseball team to an appearance in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) tournament. He subsequently attended Massasoit Community College and starred on the school's 1993 NJCAA Division II National Championship baseball team. Alexander Karalexis (born September 20, 1977) is a retired American professional mixed martial artist. A professional from 2003 until 2011, Karalexis was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 1, and competed for the UFC and WEC. Background Karalexis was raised in Hanson, Massachusetts, and is of Greek descent, as his father is an immigrant from Greece who also fought in the Special Forces.
