Maná
Maná () is a Mexican pop rock band formed in 1981. Originally called Sombrero Verde, the current lineup of members is vocalist-guitarist Fher Olvera, drummer Alex González (musician), Alex González, guitarist Sergio Vallín and bassist Juan Calleros. The band is considered one of the best-selling Latin Mexican music artists and the most successful Latin American band of all time with over 45 million records sold worldwide. Maná has earned four Grammy Awards, eight Latin Grammy Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards Latin America, six Premios Juventud awards, 19 Billboard Latin Music Awards and 15 Premios Lo Nuestro awards. After performing under the name Sombrero Verde for six years, they renamed to Maná in 1986 and released their debut studio album, ''Maná (album), Maná'', in 1987. Drama Y Luz
''Drama y Luz'' (English: "Drama and Light") is the eighth studio album released by the Mexican Latin pop/Rock en Español band Maná. This album was released in three formats CD, CD with DVD, and 12" LP vinyl record. The album was released on April 12, 2011, after a long wait of 5 years since their last studio album Amar es Combatir. The first single off the album is "Lluvia al Corazón", released on March 10, 2011. ''Sueños Líquidos'' (Spanish for ''Liquid Dreams'') is the fifth studio album (ninth overall) recorded by Mexican rock band Maná, It was released by WEA Latina on October 14, 1997 (see 1997 in music). After its release for the first time in over 36 countries across the globe, the band began to receive wide international attention, especially in Spain and the U.S., where the album sold over one million copies. This album was born of the desire to create an environment where water, a vital element, has an important presence. Sergio Vallín
Sergio Vallín Loera (born May 26, 1972) is a Mexican guitarist of the Mexican band Maná. Vallín was born in Mexico City, where he lived for the first ten years of his life until he moved with his family to Aguascalientes, capital of the state of the same name. Thus he has nicknamed himself "Hidrocálido", after one of the demonyms for his adopted city. Early music He had his first contact with music when he became part of a local student music group when he was 8. At the age of ten he began to feel attracted to bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Doors. When he was thirteen in Aguascalientes, he took classical guitar lessons. He received his first salary as a musician, when he began to give private guitar lessons to other young kids in his same age group. José Fernando Emilio "Fher" Olvera Sierra (born 8 December 1959) is a Mexican musician and songwriter who is the secondary guitarist, composer and lead singer of the rock band Maná. ''Cuando Los Ángeles Lloran'' (English: ''When the Angels Cry'') is the eighth album and fourth studio album by Mexican rock band Maná. It was the first album to feature their new guitarist Sergio Vallín replacing Ulises Calleros & César "Vampiro" López. As of 1996, it has sold over 1.5 million copies. The album, which marked a clear evolution in Maná's compositions, was recorded between Los Angeles and Puerto Vallarta throughout 1994, although its release was postponed to 1995. ''Revolución de Amor'' (''Revolution of Love'') is the sixth and sixteenth overall studio album by Mexican rock band Maná, released by WEA Latina on August 20, 2002. Allmusic considers it one of their strongest and most consistent albums. Critics of the band deride it for being too slick and polished, with an "arena rock" aura, but others consider it to have some of their strongest writing. The album gave Maná their fourth Grammy. The songs have various influences; from Mexican elements on " Mariposa Traicionera" to a salsa-influenced groove on "No Voy A Ser Tu Esclavo" and "Sabanas Frías." Alex González (musician)
Alejandro González Trujillo (born February 24, 1969) is an American musician. He is the main drummer and songwriter for the Mexican band Maná and metal band De La Tierra. He is nicknamed "El Animal" and has sung lead vocals on several songs, such as " Me Vale". Alex discovered his passion for playing the drums at the young age of 5 when he caught the attention of a kindergarten teacher who gave him a red sparkle drumkit. He took to the instrument very seriously and found himself a teacher shortly thereafter. By age fifteen, Alex was in Maná who had their first hit in 1992 with their album '' ¿Dónde Jugarán Los Niños?'', which was certified gold in the U.S. Alex cites influences such as Ringo Starr, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Stewart Copeland, Neil Peart and Terry Bozzio.
