Makarska International Championships
The Makarska International Championships is a WTA 125-level professional women's tennis tournament. It takes place on outdoor clay courts, during the second week of French Open at the Tennis Center Makarska in the city of Makarska, Croatia. The tournament was held in 1998 as WTA Tier IV level event. In 2022, the tournament made a comeback as a WTA 125 level event as a replacement for the Bol Open. Makarska
Makarska (; it, Macarsca, ; german: Macharscha) is a town on the Adriatic coastline of Croatia, about southeast of Split (city), Split and northwest of Dubrovnik, in the Split-Dalmatia County. Makarska is a prominent regional tourist center, located on a horseshoe-shaped bay between the Biokovo mountains and the Adriatic Sea. Croatia Open Umag
The Croatia Open (currently sponsored by Plava laguna) is a men's ATP tennis tournament held in Umag, Croatia that is part of the ATP World Tour 250 series, 250 series of the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP Tour. The tournament began in 1990 when it was part of Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Yugoslavia, and is the oldest tennis tournament in Croatia. It began as the Yugoslavia Open and has been played every year since. It is played on outdoor red clay courts. Carlos Moyá has won the tournament a record five times; he also holds the record for the most consecutive wins at three. His most recent win was in 2007. Aleksandra Krunić ( sr-Cyrl, Александра Крунић; born 15 March 1993) is a Serbian professional tennis player. She has won one singles title and six doubles titles on the WTA Tour along with one singles title on WTA 125 tournaments. In June 2018, she reached her best singles rankings of world No. 39. Olga Danilović ( sr-cyr, Олга Даниловић, ; born 23 January 2001) is a Serbian tennis player. In July 2018, Danilović won her first WTA Tour singles title in Moscow by beating Anastasia Potapova in the final. She also won two WTA doubles titles, first in Tashkent and the second one in Lausanne. On the WTA Challenger Tour, she has won one doubles title. Karin Kschwendt
Karin Kschwendt (born 14 September 1968) is a former professional tennis player who represented Luxembourg, Germany and Austria at various points in her career. She reached her career-high ranking of world No. 37 on 12 August 1996. In doubles, she went as high as No. 45 in February 1996. Kschwendt was born in Switzerland to Austrian parents Heinz and Edith, but grew up in Luxembourg, where she lived for 23 years. Katarina Srebotnik (born 12 March 1981) is a Slovenian retired professional tennis player. She reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 20 on 7 August 2006. On 4 July 2011, she reached No. 1 of the WTA doubles rankings, holding this ranking for 10 weeks. Srebotnik won four singles titles on the WTA Tour and was ranked inside the top 30 for several years.
