Maasdriel
Maasdriel () is a municipality in the province of Gelderland, in the eastern Netherlands. Maasdriel was formed on 1 January, 1999 by the merger of the former municipalities of Ammerzoden (including Well, Wellseind en Wordragen), Hedel, Heerewaarden, Maasdriel (Alem, Hoenzadriel, Kerkdriel and Velddriel) and Rossum (including Hurwenen). Alem

It used to part of the province in North Brabant. In 1934, it became part of Gelderland. Until 1958, Alem, Maren en Kessel was a separate municipality. Kerkdriel is a town in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 8 km north of 's-Hertogenbosch. Rossum, Gelderland
Rossum is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 11 km southwest of Tiel. Hurwenen
Hurwenen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 11 km southwest of Tiel. Thijs Straver is the mayor of Hurwenen. Hurwenen was a separate municipality until 1955, when it was merged with Rossum, except for a short period between 1818 and 1821, when it was also a part of Rossum. Hoenzadriel is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel and lies about 6 km north of 's-Hertogenbosch. It was first mentioned in 722 as Hunsetti. Heerewaarden
Heerewaarden is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 8 km south of Tiel. Heerewaarden was a separate municipality until 1999, except for a short period between 1818 and 1821, when it was part of Rossum. History It was first mentioned in 997 as "ad Heriuuarda". The etymology is unclear. In 997, the area was given to Notker of Liège, the Prince-Bishop of Liège who builds a monastery. The Dutch Reformed Church was completed in 1850 and replaced a church from 1608. Fort De Voorn was a sconce built in 1588 by Maurice of Orange on the river island Voorne to control the river. Ammerzoden
Ammerzoden is a village on the northern bank of the Maas river in western Gelderland, a Dutch province. The people of the village have strong connections with the people in the province of North Brabant, especially the nearby city of 's-Hertogenbosch. Since 1 January 1999, Ammerzoden has been part of the municipality of Maasdriel. Ammerzoden has a famous castle, 'Kasteel Ammersoyen', built around 1300. It was heavily damaged by fire in 1590, and sustained damage during World War II. The castle was reopened in 1975. Ammerzoden has two churches. Hedel
Hedel () is a town in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 7 km northwest of 's-Hertogenbosch. Hedel was a separate municipality until 1999, when it was merged with Maasdriel. In World War II, there were a lot of fights in Hedel, especially during the month April 1945 when the armies of the Princess Irene Brigade came to liberate the town. Hedel has a very strategic location, it lies on the border of Gelderland and North Brabant and on the Maas. Almost the whole town of Hedel was destroyed during World War II. A monument to 12 members of the Princess Irene Brigade killed between April 23rd and April 26th, 1945 was erected in Hedel. Hedel has its own harbour named 't Stik. There is also an excavation of the castle of Hedel. The excavations lie in the Historic Museum in Hedel.
