Kulung Language (Nepal)
Kulung (exonym and endonym, autonym: ''Kulu riŋ'', Help:IPA, [kulu rɪŋ]) is one of the Rai languages; it is spoken by an estimated 33,000 people. Van Driem (2001) includes Chukwa as a dialect. Locations Kulung in some ten villages along the upper reaches of the Huṅga or Hongu River, Hoṅgu River (a tributary of the Dūdhkosī), in Solukhumbu District of Sagarmatha Zone, Sagarmāthā Zone, Nepal. The main Kulung-speaking villages are Chhemsi and Chheskam. The particular dialect of the language spoken in these two villages is considered by the Kulung people, Kulung to be the most original form of their language. Downstream, on both sides of the Huṅga river, in villages that are now called Luchcham, Gudel, Chocholung, Nāmluṅg, Pilmo, Bung, Chhekmā, and Sātdi, less prestigious varieties of Kulung are spoken. Kulung People
The Kulung Rai also call Kulunge Rai/Rodu are one of the major subgroup of Rai peoplewww.insidehimalayas.com and indigenous communities of Nepal, as well as parts of northeastern Sikkim and Darjeeling district of India, having their own Kulung language, culture, history and tradition. The Kulung population in Nepal is estimated to be in the region of 150,000-200,000. The ethno-linguistic region inhabited by the Kulungs is called the "Mahakulung" ("Greater Kulung") and is located in the Solukhumbu district of Sagarmatha Zone of Nepal. It specifically refers to the Hongu valley, comprising Gudel, Chheskam, Bung, Pawai and Sotang, as well as villages in the Sankhuwasawa District and the valleys of the Hongu, Sangkhuwa and Sisuwa rivers. Presently Mahakulung is located in the Bung, Chheskam, Gudel and Sotang village development committees in the Solukhumbu District in the eastern part of Nepal. Kulung Language (West Chadic)
Kulung (Wurkum) is a minor West Chadic language of Karim Lamido LGA, Taraba State, Nigeria that was recently discovered by Roger Blench. The language is not reported in Ethnologue or Glottolog. Blench (2019) gives a rough estimate of about 2,000 speakers. Kulung speakers consider themselves to be ethnically part of the larger Jarawan Bantu-speaking Kulung, although their language is West Chadic and related to Piya The ''Piya'' (; "Increased ra") was a Chinese dictionary compiled by Song Dynasty scholar Lu Dian ( 陸佃/陆佃, 1042-1102). Marba is an Afro-Asiatic language spoken by the Azumeina peoples of Chad as their first language. It is also the name of one of the Azumeina peoples. Description The Marba language is indigenous primarily to: * Tandjilé Ouest ( fr), one of three departments in the Tandjilé Region ( fr) of south-western Chad (the others are Tandjilé Centre and Tandjilé Est) * Leou-Mbassa sous-préfecture in the department of Kabbia ( fr) in the Mayo-Kebbi Est ( fr) region.
