What Makes It Go?
''What Makes it Go?'' is the third full-length studio album by Swedish band Komeda. Licensed from Swedish record label North of No South, Minty Fresh gave the album an international release in 1998. In a 2020 interview for the Jeffrey Podcast, bass player Marcus Holmberg said that the band set out to build on the success of their previous album by writing an album of "pop masterpieces". His own favourite tracks from the album were A Simple Formality and Our Hospitality. Upon its release ''What Makes it Go?'' received positive reviews from music critics and was noted for being a worthy progression from previous album ''The Genius of Komeda''. It is now generally viewed as the band's best album. The album got significant play on MTV and increased their profile in the US. Beck approached them to support his Odelay tour. The Genius Of Komeda
''The Genius of Komeda'' is the second full-length studio album by Swedish band Komeda. Released in 1996, this was the first Komeda release sung in English. Licensed from Swedish record label North of No South to Minty Fresh, this was Komeda's first record to be given an international release. The album was packaged as if it were a compilation with a (mainly) fake back catalogue based on an idea by the band's graphic designers. In a 2020 interview with the Jeffrey Podcast, bass player Marcus Holmberg chose this as his favourite Komeda album. Its pop/rock sound brought about comparisons to Minty Fresh labelmates The Cardigans and also Stereolab Stereolab are an Anglo- French avant-pop band formed in London in 1990. Plan 714 Till Komeda
''Plan 714 till Komeda'' is an EP by Swedish band Komeda. It was originally released in 1995 in Sweden on the North of No South label. As was their debut album two years prior, the songs are sung in the band's native language. This was the first release following the departure of guitarist Henrik Andersson and the arrival of his replacement Mattias Norlander. The band were keen to see what they could do following Andersson's departure and, impatient to keep moving, they decided to release these four tracks as an EP and not wait for a full album's worth of material. Its title is a reference to the Hergé comic-strip album ''Vol 714 pour Sydney'' (Flight 714 to Sydney), the Swedish title of which is ''Plan 714 till Sydney''. In 2001 this EP was combined with the ''Pop På Svenska'' album and issued by Minty Fresh Minty Fresh is a Chicago-based record label, founded in 1993 by Jim Powers with Anthony Musiala. Pop På Svenska
''Pop På Svenska'' is the debut album by Swedish band Komeda. It was originally released in 1993 in Sweden on the North of No South label. Lars Henrik Andersson (Ray Wonder, Hank, LHA) was a band member in this release. Most of the songs are sung in the band's native language, although the pop/rock sound they are known for is firmly in place. The songs were originally written in English but later changed to Swedish following an idea from drummer Jonas Holmberg to sing in their own language. The centre of the CD has the words "The parking of trolls must cease to exist", a nonsense statement that came to Jonas Holmberg in a dream. The band had originally hoped to inscribe this in the centre of the vinyl release, but the album was never released on vinyl. In 2001 this album was combined with the ''Plan 714 till Komeda'' EP and issued by Minty Fresh Minty Fresh is a Chicago-based record label, founded in 1993 by Jim Powers with Anthony Musiala. Old Navy
Old Navy is an American clothing and accessories retailing company owned by multinational corporation Gap Inc. It has corporate operations in the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The largest of the Old Navy stores are its flagship stores, located in New York City, Seattle, Chicago, San Francisco, Manila, and Mexico City. History In the early 1990s, Dayton-Hudson Corporation (then the parent company of Target, Mervyn's, Dayton's, Hudson's, and Marshall Field's) looked to establish a new division branded as a less expensive version of Gap called ''Everyday Hero''; Gap's then-CEO Millard Drexler responded by opening Gap Warehouse in existing Gap outlet locations in 1993. On March 11, 1994, Gap Warehouse was renamed Old Navy Clothing Co. in order to establish a separate image from its parent company Gap Inc. Hidden Track
In the field of recorded music, a hidden track (sometimes called a ghost track, secret track or unlisted track) is a song or a piece of audio that has been placed on a CD, audio cassette, LP record, or other recorded medium, in such a way as to avoid detection by the casual listener. In some cases, the piece of music may simply have been left off the track listing, while in other cases, more elaborate methods are used. In rare cases, a 'hidden track' is actually the result of an error that occurred during the mastering stage production of the recorded media. However, since the rise of digital and streaming services such as iTunes and Spotify in the late 2000s and early 2010s, the inclusion of hidden tracks has declined on studio albums. It is occasionally unclear whether a piece of music is 'hidden.' For example, " Her Majesty," which is preceded by fourteen seconds of silence, was originally unlisted on The Beatles' ''Abbey Road'' but is listed on current versions of the alb ...
