Khumulwng is a town in the West Tripura district in the Indian state of Tripura. It is the headquarters and the largest town of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. History Khumulwng was established in 1991. The TTAADC headquarters was shifted to the town from 1996 onwards. Geography It is situated 18 km from Agartala. Kokchap Nok The most beautiful landmark of the town is the Kaunsil Nok (Council House) located right in the heart of the town. This structure houses the legislative body of the TTAADC (Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council). Demographics The ethnic population of the town are the Tripuri people formed about 99% in the area, rest are others. The local language is Kokborok. They have a distinct identity of their own. They are mongoloid people and speaks Sino-Tibetan language like the rest of Northeast India's Indigenous native peoples. Kokborok (also known as Tripuri or Tiprakok) is the main native language of the Tripuri people of the Indian state of Tripura and neighbouring areas of Bangladesh. Its name comes from ''kok'' meaning "verbal" and ''borok'' meaning "people" or "human" and is one of the ancient languages of Northeast India. History Kokborok was formerly known as Tripuri & Tipra kok, with its name being changed in the 20th century. The names also refer to the inhabitants of the former Twipra kingdom, as well as the ethnicity of its speakers. Kókborok has been attested since at least the 1st century AD, when the historical record of Tripuri kings began to be written down. The script of Kókborok was called "Koloma". Sadar North Baptist Association
Sadar North Baptist Association (SNBA) is a Baptist Christian denomination in Tripura. It is located within the West Tripura district of Tripura in India. As of 2014, SNBA had more than 21,000 members and 156 churches. History SNBA started as a small circle within the Central Baptist Association of Tripura Baptist Christian Union (TBCU). It later on evolved and developed into a full-fledged association of TBCU with many churches affiliated to it. Today there are around more than 150 churches and fellowships within Sadar North Baptist Association. Some the pioneers of the Baptist's in Sadar North is Life Deacon Biralal Debbarma (one of the first three Christians in the Kokborok speaking community and the ex-President of SNBA) and the Late Rev.
