Kendall is a town on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. History The Birpai (also known as Birrbay) people have lived in this area for more than 40,000 years. Kendall was originally named Camden Heads, as it is located on the Camden Haven River. It was renamed Kendall, in 1891, after the Australian poet Henry Kendall, and not, as some tourists suspect, after the similarly spelled ancient town of Kendal in the County of Cumbria in England. Henry Kendall lived in the area from 1875 to 1881 when he was the first Forest Inspector for New South Wales. Kendall is located 3 kilometres from Kew and 36 kilometres southwest of Port Macquarie via the Pacific Highway. It is one of the seven villages that make up the Camden Haven region of the Port Macquarie/Hastings Local Government Area. Disappearance Of William Tyrrell
William Tyrrell (born 26 June 2011) is an Australian boy who disappeared at the age of three from Kendall, New South Wales, on 12 September 2014. He had been playing at his foster grandmother's house with his sister, and was wearing a Spider-Man suit at the time of his disappearance. For the first seven years of the investigation, Tyrrell was believed to have been abducted. On 12 September 2016, a reward of was offered for the recovery of Tyrrell and did not require the arrest, charging or conviction of any person or persons. On 15 November 2021, after receiving new evidence, the New South Wales Police Force renewed the search for Tyrrell in three areas surrounding Kendall, assuming that they were searching for human remains. North Coast Railway Line, New South Wales
The North Coast Line is the primary rail route in the Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers regions of New South Wales, Australia, and forms a major part of the Sydney–Brisbane rail corridor. The line begins at Maitland and ends at Roma Street railway station in Brisbane, although freight services terminate at the yard at Acacia Ridge on the outskirts of Brisbane. Along the way, the railway passes through the towns of Dungog, Gloucester, Wingham, Taree, Kendall, Wauchope, Kempsey, Macksville, Nambucca Heads, Urunga, Sawtell, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Casino and Kyogle. Kendall School of Arts is a heritage-listed school of arts at Comboyne Street, Kendall, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1908. It is also known as the Kendall Community Centre and known locally as Kendall Hall. The property is owned by Kendall Community Centre. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. History The site was proposed to be set apart as a site for a School of Arts in 1892. The land was excised from Camping Reserve No. 132, which had been notified on 1 August 1881. Camden Haven is a parish in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, approximately 30 km south of the major regional centre of Port Macquarie. The harbour is located where the Camden Haven River empties into the Tasman Sea. The Birpai (also known as Birrbay) people have lived in this area for more than 40,000 years. Camden Haven is also the name given to a group of settlements located on the shores of Camden Haven and in the rural hinterland. Pacific Highway is a national highway and major transport route along the central east coast of Australia, with the majority of it being part of Australia's Highway 1. The highway and its adjoining Pacific Motorway between Brisbane and Brunswick Heads and Pacific Motorway between Sydney and Newcastle links the state capitals of Sydney in New South Wales with Brisbane in Queensland, approximately paralleling the Tasman Sea of the South Pacific Ocean coast, via Gosford, Newcastle, Taree, Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, and Ballina. Additionally, between Brunswick Heads and Port Macquarie (excepting for a short stretch around Coffs Harbour), the road is also signed as Pacific Motorway, but has not been legally gazetted as such.
