César Keiser or Hanspeter Keiser (4 April 1925 – 25 February 2007) was a Swiss cabarettist, comedian, radio personality, and stage and film actor, usually starring in Swiss German language cinema, television and stage productions. Life and work Born in Basel, Canton of Basel-Stadt in Switzerland, ''Hanspeter Keiser'' attended the gymnasium (college), and from 1940 to 1950 the teacher seminary and arts college in Basel where he worked as a professor in 1951. During World War II Keiser was drummer in various entertainment and jazz groups, among others, together with Lukas ''Cheese'' Burckhardt in his own orchestra ''César Roy''. In 1944 Keier founded the amateur theater group "Quodlibet Basel", a circle of literary and culturally interested people. In 1946 Keiser was co-founder of "Cabaret Kikeriki" in which Keiser participated as a writer and performer up to its dissolution in 1951. Reinhard Keiser (9 January 1674 – 12 September 1739) was a German opera composer based in Hamburg. He wrote over a hundred operas. Johann Adolf Scheibe (writing in 1745) considered him an equal to Johann Kuhnau, George Frideric Handel and Georg Philipp Telemann, but his work was largely forgotten for many decades. Biography Keiser was born in Teuchern (in present-day Saxony-Anhalt), son of the organist and teacher Gottfried Keiser (born about 1650), and educated by other organists in the town and then from age eleven at the Thomasschule in Leipzig, where his teachers included Johann Schelle and Johann Kuhnau, direct predecessors of Johann Sebastian Bach. Keiser, Arkansas
Keiser is a city in Mississippi County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 751 at the 2020 census. History Originally known as "Savage Crossing", Keiser was one of several cities established by prominent late-19th century planter and land developer Robert E. Lee Wilson. The city, which served as a logging outpost and stop on the rail line that connected Wilson and Jonesboro, was named for Wilson's friend, John Keiser. After the forests had been cleared, the city transitioned from a logging town to an agrarian community. The Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station established a research farm near Keiser in 1957, and built a regional headquarters in Keiser, the Northeast Research and Extension Center, 1980. Keizer () is a city located in Marion County, Oregon, United States, along the 45th parallel. As of the 2010 United States Census, its population was 36,478. It lies in the Willamette Valley, and is part of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area. It was named after pioneer Thomas Dove (T. D.) Keizur and his family, who arrived in the Wagon Train of 1843, and later filed donation land claims. History The original settlement was at Keizer Bottom, near the banks of the Willamette River. The community was named after Thomas Dove Keizur, one of its first settlers. Somewhere in the translation of donation land claim records, his name was misspelled. The settlement suffered in the flood of 1861, and the inhabitants rebuilt their homes on higher ground.
