Kalush Raion
Kalush Raion ( uk, Ка́луський райо́н, translit=Kalushsky raion) is a raion (district) of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (province). The city of Kalush is the administrative center of the raion. Population: . On 18 July 2020, as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, the number of raions of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast was reduced to six, and the area of Kalush Raion was significantly expanded. Two abolished raions, Dolyna and Rozhniativ Raions, as well as Bolekhiv Municipality and the city of Kalush, which was previously incorporated as a city of oblast significance and did not belong to the raion, were merged into Kalush Raion. Raions of Ukraine (often translated as "districts"; Ukrainian: ра́йон, tr. ''raion''; plural: райо́ни, tr. ''raiony'') are the second level of administrative division in Ukraine, below the oblast. Raions were created in a 1922 administrative reform of the Soviet Union, to which Ukraine, as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, belonged. Duba, Ukraine
Duba ( uk, Дуба) is a village in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine, located in Kalush Raion. It is the centre of the Duba rural hromada. History The village of Duba was founded in 1535. Its residents participated in the 1648 Khmelnytsky Uprising. The Saint Nicholas Church of Duba, a wooden church, was first mentioned in 1685, and was also mentioned as part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lviv in 1708. Under the Soviet Union it was part of the Russian Orthodox Church, but it is today owned by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Demographics In 1939, Duba had a population of 1,470. Of these, 1,440 were Ukrainians, 10 were Poles, and another 20 were Latynnyky, a Roman Catholic subgroup of Ukrainians. In the 1989 Soviet census Duba had a population of 1,269. Dolyna ( uk, Доли́на, pl, Dolina, yi, דאלינע) is a city located in Kalush Raion of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (region) in south-western Ukraine. Bolekhiv ( uk, Болехів, translit=Bolechiw; pl, Bolechów; yi, באָלעכאָוו) is a regional city in Kalush Raion, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (province) of Ukraine. It was once home to a large Jewish community, very few of whom survived World War II. Bolekhiv hosts the administration of Bolekhiv urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: .
