APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University
APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, formerly known as Kerala Technological University (KTU), is a state owned public university headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital of Kerala, India. It is both a teaching and affiliation university, with more than 150 affiliated colleges and over 160,000 students enrolled, having jurisdiction over the entire area of Kerala. It is an AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and UGC (University Grants Commission) approved university that offers UG and PG courses under popular streams such as BTech, BArch, BHMCT, MTech, M.Arch, MBA, and MCA. Now, KTU also provides B.Tech Honours as well as Minor programs in addition to regular courses. The Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union (KTU, ko, 전국교직원노동조합), also known as Jeon(-)gyojo ( ko, 전교조; acronym for ''KTU'' in Korean language) is a labor union of teachers in South Korea. The organization has 77,000 members (down from 94,000) among the 360,000 public and private school teachers in the country. History The KTU was founded in 1989 under opposition from the South Korean government. In response to its founding, several thousand members were subsequently fired by the education authorities. The KTU finally received official recognition in 1999 after the election of Kim Dae-Jung and many of the dismissed teachers were allowed to return to their former positions. KTU (band)
KTU (pronounced K2) is a Finnish-American progressive/experimental musical supergroup. In 2004, Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto started collaborating with Kimmo Pohjonen and Samuli Kosminen, forming KTU out of their respective duos TU and Kluster. History Kimmo and Samuli formed Kluster in 2001. Both award-winning musicians are known as adventurers in their respective fields and their partnership takes accordion music to new and unexplored territory. On stage, Kosminen reproduces samples of Pohjonen's accordion and voice percussively by way of electronic drum pads. Samuli also drums with Icelandic band Múm, and other recent Kluster collaborations include the project ''Uniko'', together with Kronos Quartet. Percussionist Pat Mastelotto and touch guitarist Trey Gunn have enjoyed successful careers with the band King Crimson. The Gymnasium of Kaunas University of Technology (KTUG), formerly Kaunas Polytechnical Institute Experimental Secondary School, is Lithuania's first university-supported secondary school for gifted pupils. The gymnasium was established by Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) in 1989 and adopted its current name in 1990. Kwu Tung (Chinese: 古洞站) is a planned underground infill station on the Lok Ma Chau spur line of the of the MTR rapid transit network in Hong Kong. The station will be situated near Kwu Tung in North District, New Territories. It will act as the terminus of the proposed . History In 2001, KCR Corporation, then operator of the East Rail line (known then simply as "East Rail"), proposed a spur line that would reach the Lok Ma Chau checkpoint. A small area of land in Kwu Tung, an area in between Sheung Shui and Lok Ma Chau, was acquired by KCR for the construction of an underground station. When construction began in 2002, the length of the spur line was built using tunnel boring machines (TBMs) through Kwu Tung.
