Jewelpet
is a Japanese media franchise and toy line created in 2008 as a joint venture between Sanrio and Sega Toys, produced by the third character designer of Hello Kitty, Yuko Yamaguchi and illustrated by the character designer of Cinnamoroll, Miyuki Okumura. The franchise was originally launched on January 15, 2008, focusing on animals named after jewels, birthstones and minerals, who can use magic using their eyes. Due to its success, Sanrio and Sega Toys expanded the Jewelpet franchise overseas. The franchise is currently being licensed by Italian company Giochi Preziosi (company), Giochi Preziosi for its European release. The official slogan is "Eyes of Jewel that Shine, glittering with Luck and Good Fortune". Story In an antique shop, there was a magical Jewel Box which sat there for centuries and shined in very bright colors. Jewelpet (anime)
, also called ''Jewel Pets'', is a 2009 Japanese fantasy anime series produced by Studio Comet, based on the Jewelpet franchise jointly created by Sanrio and Sega Sammy Holdings. The series was written by Atsushi Maekawa ('' Digimon Adventure 02'', ''Bakugan Battle Brawlers'', ''Fresh Pretty Cure!'') with direction from Nanako Sasaki, screenplay by Takashi Yamada (''Yumeiro Pâtissière''), and produced by Kazuya Watanabe (''Onegai My Melody'') with character designs from Tomoko Miyakawa. Lady Jewelpet
is a Japanese anime television series animated by Studio Comet and Zexcs. It is the 6th installment in the ''Jewelpet'' anime franchise based on the characters jointly created by Sanrio and Sega Toys. It was written by Natsuko Takahashi ('' 07-Ghost'') and directed by Itsuro Kawasaki ('' Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father!'', ''Rental Magica''). Original character designs were done by Arco Wada (''Fate/Extra''), while the designs for the Jewelpets, like the previous five seasons before it, are done by Tomoko Miyakawa. This is a list of characters from Sanrio, a Japanese company specialized in creating kawaii (cute) characters. Sanrio sells and licenses products branded with these characters and has created over 450 characters. Their most successful and best known character, Hello Kitty, was created in 1974. Jewelpet Attack Travel!
is a 2022 anime film directed by Hiroshi Negishi and produced by Ashi Productions. It premiered on the internet streaming site Niconico on 14 May 2022. ''Attack Travel!'' is the first anime project in the ''Jewelpet'' franchise (created as a joint venture between Sanrio and Sega Toys) in 7 years; originally meant to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the franchise being adapted for television. It was first set for release on February 7, 2020, and would have been attached to the first feature film from Negishi's Zero-G animation studio, an original project titled . Miyuki Okumura
is a character artist and manga artist from Saitama Prefecture. She is well known as the character illustrator and artist for Sanrio's ''Cinnamoroll'' and ''Jewelpet'' franchises. Biography Miyuki Okumura was born in Saitama Prefecture and attended Fukuoka Central High School. After she graduated, she attended college at the Joshibi Junior College and graduated with a degree in design. She then joined Sanrio after doing the official character art for the ''Cinnamoroll'' franchise and became well known after its release. Rilu Rilu Fairilu
is a character franchise created in collaboration by Sanrio and Sega Sammy Holdings, illustrated by character designer Ai Setani (Kirimichan). It is the second Sanrio franchise that was handled by two companies, the first being Jewelpet. The franchise was officially launched in December 2015. Yuko Yamaguchi
is a Japanese character designer and illustrator. She is well known as the third character designer of Hello Kitty. Biography Early life Yamaguchi was born in Kōchi, Kōchi, Japan. She attended Joshibi University of Art and Design where she studied industrial design. Sanrio tenure Yamaguchi joined Sanrio in 1978.
