Ernest Jarrold
Ernest Justin Jarrold (1848–1912) was the American author of a series of popular fictional stories about a boy named Mickey Finn. The "Mickey Finn" stories were published in newspapers across the United States, bringing nationwide fame to Jarrold. Jarrold was born in August 1848 in Brentwood, Essex, England. When Jarrold was three years old, his family moved to New York and settled in the town of Kingston. Jarrold married Ella Adelaid Clark on October 22, 1869, in Peekskill, New York. In 1881, he moved his family to Brooklyn and obtained a job at the New York Evening Sun. He eventually became a staff writer, and began writing short stories about a boy named "Mickey Finn" growing up in the Irish section of bucolic Rondout, New York, where he had lived previously with his wife and children. Julian Jarrold
Julian Edward Peter Jarrold (born 15 May 1960 in Norwich, Norfolk) is a BAFTA Award-nominated English film and television director. Early life Jarrold was born into the family which founded Jarrolds of Norwich in 1823. He was educated at Gresham's School, Holt, and Trinity & All Saints College. Career Jarrold directed ''Great Expectations'', starring Ioan Gruffudd, in 1999. ''The Boston Globe'' felt that Jarrold helped distinguish it from the many other adaptations by "keeping the reins in on his characters, emotionally and morally. Kenneth Wesley Jarrold CBE (born 19 May 1948), is a British health service manager. Jarrold was educated at St Lawrence College, Ramsgate, and Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, where he gained a first-class degree in history. He was President of the Cambridge Union. From December 2011 to March 2016 he was Chair of North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. He was appointed chair of the Rebalancing Medicines Legislation and Pharmacy Regulation Programme Board in 2013. He lives at Stockton on Tees and Newcastle upon Tyne.
