James Street, Northbridge
James Street is a street which serves the list of Perth suburbs, Perth suburbs Perth (suburb), Perth and Northbridge, Western Australia, Northbridge. It is the main east-west road in the centre of Northbridge. A section of the eastern end of the street has been closed and modified as the James Street Mall in the Perth Cultural Centrewith the Western Australian Museum, Alexander Library Building and older government buildings contained within the culture centre area. The central section between William Street, Perth, William Street and to the western end at Russell Square, Perth, Russell Square is a streetscape with a colourful and extensive history of crime, and notoriety. Until December 2016, the Mitchell Freeway had a southbound exit onto the street. Graham Farmer Freeway
Graham Farmer Freeway is a inner-city freeway in Perth, Western Australia. It links Rivervale and Burswood with West Perth and Leederville, providing an east-west bypass of Perth's central business district. The freeway, in conjunction with Great Eastern Highway and Orrong Road, is also an important connection between the city centre and Perth Airport. It is allocated State Route 8, and was named in honour of the Australian rules footballer, Graham "Polly" Farmer, who played between 1953 and 1971 in both the West Australian and Victorian Football Leagues. The Western Australian Museum is a statutory authority within the Culture and the Arts Portfolio, established under the ''Museum Act 1969''. The museum has six main sites. Melbourne Street, Perth
Melbourne Street is a street in Northbridge, Western Australia that runs between Roe and James Streets. The current street is a part of an older and longer street that at one time extended from Murray Street to what is now Aberdeen Street. It is named after Lord Melbourne, the British prime minister in the 1830s, when the street was originally built. History Melbourne Street appears in maps of Perth from as early as 1838, running from Murray Street north to Lamb Street (now Aberdeen Street). By 1845 Russell Square had been constructed and Melbourne Street terminated at James Street. Charles Street is a major road in the inner northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. It runs from Newcastle Street and extends up to London Street, providing a connection between Mitchell Freeway and Wanneroo Road. Roe Street, Perth
Roe Street is a street in Perth, Western Australia. The central section of the street forms the southern boundary of the suburb of Northbridge, while the eastern end borders the Perth Cultural Centre to the north and Perth railway station to the south. The southern approach of the Hamilton Interchange, which connects the Mitchell Freeway and the Graham Farmer Freeway, passes over the street to the west. Immediately south of Roe Street was the former site of the railway marshalling yards that were originally to the west of Perth station; in the 2010s the Perth City Link project sunk and covered the remaining parts of the railway south of Northbridge and opened up the area for redevelopment. Mitchell Freeway
The Mitchell Freeway is a freeway in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, linking central Perth with the city of Joondalup. It is the northern section of State Route 2, which continues south as Kwinana Freeway and Forrest Highway. Along its length are interchanges with several major roads, including the Graham Farmer Freeway and Reid Highway. The southern terminus of the Mitchell Freeway is at the Narrows Bridge, which crosses the Swan River, and the northern terminus is at Hester Avenue, Clarkson, a suburb within the City of Wanneroo. Planning for the route began in the 1950s, and the first segment in central Perth was constructed between 1967 and 1973.
