The Maine Department of Transportation, also known as MaineDOT (occasionally referred to as MDOT), is the office of state government charged with the regulation and maintenance of roads, rail, ferries, and other public transport infrastructure in the state of Maine. Interstate 95 (I-95) is an Interstate Highway on the east coast of the United States, connecting Florida to Maine. Within the state of New Hampshire, it serves the Seacoast Region and is a toll road named the Blue Star Turnpike or New Hampshire Turnpike. The turnpike is maintained by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) Bureau of Turnpikes and has a single toll plaza near Hampton. The Blue Star Turnpike begins near the Massachusetts state line in the town of Seabrook and travels north through Hampton and its neighboring municipalities. Route 95 is a provincial highway in New Brunswick, which connects Interstate 95 (I-95) at the Houlton–Woodstock Border Crossing near Houlton, Maine, United States to New Brunswick Route 2 (the Trans-Canada Highway) in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada. Prior to the construction of Route 95, the connection between the two cities was served by Route 5. In 2007 the New Brunswick government completed a roadworks project to turn Route 95 into a full freeway for its entire length. Woodstock is a town in Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada on the Saint John River, 103 km upriver from Fredericton at the mouth of the Meduxnekeag River. Houlton–Woodstock Border Crossing
The Houlton–Woodstock Border Crossing is a border crossing and port of entry on the Canada–United States border, east of Houlton, Maine, and west of Woodstock, New Brunswick. The US border station is often called Houlton Station. Around 2004, Canada began calling its border station Woodstock Road. The border crossing marks the northern terminus of Interstate 95, and the western terminus of New Brunswick Route 95. This crossing was established on October 25, 1985, upon the completion of New Brunswick Route 95. At that time, the old crossing located on US Route 2 immediately to the south was permanently closed. It is a time zone boundary between Eastern Time Zone and Atlantic Time Zone. Interstate 295 (I-295) is a auxiliary Interstate Highway in the US state of Maine from I-95 in Scarborough to I-95 in West Gardiner. The highway was designated the Richard A. Coleman Highway in 2015 by the Maine Legislature. The highway serves as a bypass of Lewiston–Auburn and serves the Portland metropolitan area. It takes a more direct route between Portland and Augusta, the state capital, than its parent I-95. It also is toll-free, unlike I-95, which carries the tolled Maine Turnpike. State Route 5 (abbreviated SR 5) is a state highway in Maine that runs from an intersection with State Route 9 in Old Orchard Beach, to an intersection with State Route 120 in Andover. Route description From its southern terminus near the Pier in Old Orchard Beach, SR 5 leaves the town to the west, going towards the neighboring city of Saco. The route runs northwest from Saco, passes very briefly through a Northwest corner of Biddeford, and intersects US 202 (US 202) near the Lyman- Waterboro line. SR 5 runs concurrently with US 202 for a short distance to East Waterboro. Between Waterboro and Cornish, SR 5 is known as the Sokokis Trail. State Route 15 (SR 15) is a numbered state highway in Maine, United States. SR 15 runs over from Stonington in the south to Jackman in the north. Route description SR 15 begins in the town of Stonington, at the intersection of Main Street, School Street, and West Main Street. The route proceeds north out of Stonington and through Deer Isle en route to the mainland of Maine. Upon leaving the islands to the south via the Deer Isle Bridge, SR 15 meets SR 175 and forms an approximately concurrency with it.
