Indecision (band)
Indecision was an American hardcore punk band that was started in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn in 1993, and officially disbanded in the summer of 2000 though they still play shows occasionally for charity. Indecision is known for their song "Hallowed Be Thy Name". The song features the lyric "For those I love, I will sacrifice" that fans across the world have turned into a tattoo. Photographer Laura Rauch took a photograph of the tattoo on the ribs of a 19-year-old US Army Infantryman named Kyle Hockenberry who was being treated in a medevac helicopter following an explosion that cost him both of his legs and one arm. The photo was taken for a military newspaper and went on to win an award from the Society of Professional Journalists. The lyric subsequently gained popularity with members of the armed forces. Winston McCall, the lead vocalist and lyricist of Australian metalcore band Parkway Drive also has one half of the lyric tattooed down each of his forearms. ... Indecision Records is an independent American hardcore punk record label, which was started by punk photographer and fanzine editor Dave Mandel in 1992 as an offshoot of his fanzine, ''Indecision''. InDecision 92 was a series of special programs aired on Comedy Central during 1992, providing comedic coverage of the 1992 presidential campaign. The programs were hosted by Al Franken. Other contributing comedians included Calvin Trillin, Roy Blount, Jr., Penn Jillette, Joe Bob Briggs, Joy Behar and Buck Henry. The programs covered the Democratic National Convention, the Republican National Convention, presidential debates and the Election Night. Indecision 2000
''Comedy Central's Indecision 2000'' was a series of special episodes featured on '' The Daily Show with Jon Stewart'' spoofing the 2000 Presidential Election. This series covered the primaries leading up to the general election between George W. Bush and Al Gore. The series featured "correspondents" at the Democratic National Convention as well as the Republican National Convention. At the conventions, the correspondents interviewed many politicians in the comedic style that has made ''The Daily Show'' famous. On the first episode after election night, Jon Stewart said that the name was a joke and he had not expected people to take it seriously, referring to the debacle in Florida. ''The Daily Show with Jon Stewart's'' Indecision 2006 was Stewart's coverage of the 2006 general elections. It extended for most of the campaign period for that election, but grew especially intensive toward the actual date of the election on November 7. It marked the first appearance of John Oliver on the show. In particular, the Indecision 2006 coverage extended to the Midwest Midterm Midtacular, which was a special of ''The Daily Show'' that aired from October 30, 2006 through November 2, 2006. It was filmed in Columbus, Ohio at Roy Bowen Theater on the campus of Ohio State University. Benjamin Kunkel (born December 14, 1972 in Colorado) is an American novelist and political economist. He co-founded and is a co-editor of the journal '' n+1.'' His novel, ''Indecision'', was published in 2005. Background and education Kunkel grew up in Eagle, Colorado, and was educated at St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire; Kunkel studied at Deep Springs College in California, graduated with an A.B. from Harvard University, and received his MFA in Creative Writing at Columbia University. ''Sheep Farming in Barnet'' is the debut studio album by the English new wave band Toyah, fronted by Toyah Willcox, released in 1979 by Safari Records. Background The album was produced by Steve James and future band member Keith Hale. The album's title refers to an actual sheep farm located in the Finchley area of North London. Toyah said: "I just thought the title of the album should be something that doesn't tie tdown to a particular style or a particular time. I wanted the title to be obscure. (...) It was an enigmatic name". The album cover was designed by Bill Smith and features a photo of Toyah Willcox at the RAF Fylingdales radar station near Whitby in Yorkshire, in front of the three radomes, with her head posing as the fourth one. SoulDecision
soulDecision was a Canadian pop band active from 1993 to 2005. They are best known for the single, " Faded", which hit number-one in Canada in 2000, and " Ooh It's Kinda Crazy" which became a hit as well the following year in early 2001. Career The group was formed in Vancouver, British Columbia under the original name 'Indecision' by singer and multi-instrumentalist Trevor Guthrie, singer David Bowman, and keyboard player Ken Lewko, who were studying music together at Capilano College. Before signing a record deal, they released a couple of singles that received national top 40 radio airplay. The success of those singles led them to a record deal with Universal Music. However, due to a name conflict with an American band, they reluctantly changed their name from Indecision; they allowed their manager, Garry Francis, to choose the new name soulDecision.
