Id Tech
id Tech is a series of successive game engines designed and developed by id Software. Prior to the presentation of the id Tech 5-based game '' Rage'' in 2011, the engines lacked official designation and as such were simply referred to by the names of the games the engines had been developed for (i.e., ''Doom'' and '' Quake'' engines). The id Tech engines up through 4.5 have been released as free software under the GNU General Public License. id Tech versions 0 to 3 were released under GPL-2.0-or-later; id Tech versions 3.5 to 4.5 were released under GPL-3.0-or-later. id Tech 5 to 7 remain proprietary, with id Tech 8 currently being the latest engine. ''Catacomb 3-D'' (also known as ''Catacomb 3-D: A New Dimension'', ''Catacomb 3-D: The Descent'', and ''Catacombs 3'') is a first-person shooter video game, the third in the '' Catacomb'' series, the first of which to feature 3D computer graphics. In meteorology, a cyclone () is a large air mass that rotates around a strong center of low atmospheric pressure, counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere as viewed from above (opposite to an anticyclone). ''In Pursuit of Greed'' (also known as ''Assassinators'') is a science fiction-themed first-person shooter (FPS) video game released in 1995 for DOS, developed by Mind Shear Software and published by Softdisk. Release After Mind Shear Software's release of '' Ironseed'' in 1994, Softdisk Publishing reached out to them with the suggestion that they take advantage of the pre-alpha ''Doom'' code that Softdisk had access to in order to create a shooter, in the hopes of capitalizing on the popularity of ''Doom''.
