Winterberg Bobsleigh, Luge, And Skeleton Track
The Winterberg bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track is a bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track located in Winterberg, Germany. It is the only track of its kind in the world with a turn that has corporate sponsorship with turn seven being sponsored by Veltins, a German brewery which has its headquarters located in neighboring Meschede. History Completed in 1977, the track underwent a redesign of its start house area where the women's luge start house was moved from before turn four to near the men's luge start house prior to turn one in 2006. Hannah Neise (born 26 May 2000) is a German skeleton racer who has competed since 2014. She is currently ranked 2nd worldwide in women's skeleton racing by the IBSF. Career In 2021, Neise competed and won Gold at the Junior World Championships in St. Moritz. In January 2022, it was announced that Neise would be competing in the 2022 Winter Olympics for Germany. In her first run, she got a time of 1:02.36, putting her at eighth place, but in her second run, she got a time of 1:02.19 putting her in first place of that run and second overall. In her third run, she got a time of 1:01.44, putting her in first place. Kim Meylemans (born 7 March 1996) is a German-born Belgian skeleton racer who competes on the Skeleton World Cup. After starting out in football, she began competing in skeleton in 2009 and was selected to the German national team in 2013. In the 2014–15 season, she moved to the Belgian national team. She is coached by Fernando Oliva (personal coach) and Martin Rettl (team coach), and rides a Schneider sled. Matt Weston (born Redhill, Surrey, Redhill, Surrey, England) is a British skeleton racer who represents the United Kingdom in the Men's Singles event in the Skeleton World Cup. During January 2023, Weston became the first British male since Kristan Bromley to win the IBSF European Championships 2023, European or IBSF World Championships 2023, World Title in skelton. In the same season, Weston won five Skeleton World Cup races. His coach from the 2023 season was Latvian skelton legend Martins Dukurs. Kim Kalicki (born 27 June 1997) is a German bobsledder who competes for TuS Eintracht Wiesbaden 1846. She also representing the Germany national team since 2015 and won the silver medal in the two-woman bobsleigh event at the Bobsleigh World Championships in 2020 and 2021 with Kira Lipperheide and Ann-Christin Strack, respectively.
