József Szabó
József Szabó (born 10 March 1969) is a retired Hungarian swimmer. He competed in three individual events at the 1988 Olympics and won a gold medal in the 200 m breaststroke; he placed fourth in the 400 m and 24th in the 200 m medley events. Between 1986 and 1989 he won two gold, one silver and one bronze medals in those three events at the world and European championships. In 2012 he was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame. Ágnes Kovács
Ágnes Kovács (born 13 July 1981) is a Hungarian swimmer who competed at the Hungary at the 1996 Summer Olympics, 1996, Hungary at the 2000 Summer Olympics, 2000 and Hungary at the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2004 Olympics. In Swimming at the 2000 Summer Olympics, 2000, she won the 200 m breaststroke and set the List of Hungarian records in swimming, Hungary records in the 100 m and 200 m breaststrokes events (1:07.79 and 2:24.03). As of 2014, these records still stand. She won a bronze medal in the 200 m breaststroke at the 1996 Olympics and placed fifth in 2004; in 2004 she also finished fourth in the 200 m individual medley event. Kovács learned to swim aged two and a half years and started to train seriously at nine. Aged fourteen, she became a European Junior champion in the 100 yard breaststroke, and next year won an Olympic medal. Károly Güttler (born 15 June 1968 in Budapest) is a former breaststroker from Hungary, who represented his native country at four consecutive Olympics, beginning with the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul and ending with the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Swimming At The 1994 World Aquatics Championships
The Swimming portion of the 7th FINA World Aquatics Championships was held from September 5 to 11, 1994. The competition was swum in the outdoor pool at the Foro Italico. The competition consisted of 32 long course events: 16 for males and females each, 26 individual events and 6 relays in total. Events by stroke were: *freestyle: 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 (females), and 1500 (males); *backstroke: 100 and 200; *breaststroke: 100 and 200; *butterfly: 100 and 200; *individual medley (I.M.): 200 and 400; *relays: 4x100 free, 4x200 free, and 4x100 medley. Norbert Rózsa
Norbert Rózsa (born 9 February 1972) is a former breaststroker from Hungary, who competed at three consecutive Olympics, beginning with the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. He won two silver medals, in the 100 m and 200 m breaststroke, and became Olympic champion in Atlanta, Georgia in the 200 m breaststroke. He was elected Hungarian Sportsman of the Year in 1994 for winning two gold medals at that year's World Aquatics Championships. After retirement from sport he was battling depression. In May 2007, he was hospitalized after a suicide attempt. Then he recovered from depression in about a year time and later he became interested in working as a graphic designer. Tünde Szabó (born May 31, 1974, in Nyíregyháza, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg) is a Hungarian retired female swimmer and politician. Aged eighteen she won a silver medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, one at the 1991 World Championships in Perth, and two at the 1991 European Championships in Athens. On each occasion she finished second behind fellow Hungarian swimmer, Krisztina Egerszegi. Political career Szabó was appointed Secretary of State for Sports by minister Zoltán Balog in September 2015, replacing István Simicskó, who became Minister of Defence. She retained her position until 2022, when the secretariat was drew under the portfolio of the Ministry of Defence.
