Holland's Next Top Model
''Holland's Next Top Model'' (often abbreviated as HNTM and previously subtitled ''Modelmasters: Holland's Next Top Model'' from 2006 to 2007, signifying the show's partnership with the agency) is a Dutch reality television series, produced by Endemol, based on Tyra Banks' ''America's Next Top Model''. The series began airing in November 2006 on RTL 5, and has enjoyed a fair amount of success in the years since its inception. It has been relatively effective in its mission to find new talent, most notably with discoveries like those of cycle 4 contestant and finalist Patricia van der Vliet, cycle 5 winner Tamara Weijenberg and cycle 7 runner up Sanne De Roo. Tyra Banks
Tyra Lynne Banks (born December 4, 1973), also known as BanX, is an American television personality, model, producer, writer, and actress. Born in Inglewood, California, she began her career as a model at the age of 15, and was the first African-American woman to be featured on the covers of '' GQ'' and the ''Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue'', on which she appeared three times. She was a Victoria's Secret Angel from 1997 to 2005. By the early 2000s, Banks was one of the world's top-earning models. Daphne (; ; el, Δάφνη, , ), a minor figure in Greek mythology, is a naiad, a variety of female nymph associated with fountains, wells, springs, streams, brooks and other bodies of freshwater. The second cycle of ''Holland's Next Top Model'' premiered on 12 March 2007 on RTL5. All of the previous season's judges returned for the new cycle, with the addition of former model and runway coach Mariana Verkerk as a new panel member. Stylist Hildo Groen replaced makeup artist Dominique Samuel as a mentor for the contestants. This was the first cycle of the show to feature a live finale, with a combined vote from the public and the judges to determine the winner. The prizes for this cycle included a modelling contract with Max Models valued at €50,000, an additional contract with Ice Models in South Africa, a cover feature for ''Glamour'' magazine, and a brand new Mercedes-Benz. ''Project Runway'' is an American reality television series that premiered on Bravo on December 1, 2004. The series focuses on fashion design. The contestants compete with each other to create the best clothes and are restricted by time, materials and theme. Their designs are judged by a panel, and one or more designers are typically eliminated from the show each week. Kim Feenstra
Kim Feenstra (; born 23 August 1985) is a Dutch model. She was the winning contestant of Cycle 2 of ''Holland's Next Top Model'' in 2007. Modelling Feenstra came to prominence as a contestant on cycle two of ''Holland's Next Top Model''. Later in the show she confessed to being partially deaf in both ears due to an accident when she was a child. In the final episode, host Yfke Sturm called her the perfect candidate with potential for both runway and photographic modelling, and that Feenstra had the most potential of all the contestants to make it on either the national or international stage. The eighth cycle of ''Holland's Next Top Model'' premiered on 31 August 2015 on RTL5. The panel from the show's previous cycle remained unchanged. The prizes for this cycle included a modelling contract with Touché Models valued at €50,000, an online feature in the style and fashion website ''Amayzine.com'', and a brand new car. ''Germany's Next Topmodel'' (often abbreviated as ''GNTM'') is a German reality television series, based on a concept introduced by Tyra Banks with ''America's Next Top Model''. The competition is hosted by Heidi Klum who also serves as the lead judge and executive producer of the show. The show is heavily criticized in Germany because of the treatment of its contestants. Show format Each annual search of ''Germany's Next Topmodel'' has 10 to 17 episodes and starts with 12–31 contestants. The ninth cycle of ''Holland's Next Top Model'' premiered on 30 August 2016 on RTL5. Anouk Smulders returned as the show's host for the new cycle. The sixth cycle of ''Holland's Next Top Model'' (subtitled as ''Holland's Next Top Model Goes Europe'') premiered on 26 August 2013 on RTL5.
