Hegde means the Headman of the village. Hegde or Heggade Pergade is a surname found mainly in the coastal Karnataka region in India which is found in different communities. Satya Hegde (born 17 May 1975) is an Indian cinematographer who works in Kannada cinema. He made his debut with ''Taali Kattuva Shubhavele'' in 2002. Following this, he worked in over 20 films and received critical praise for his work in '' Duniya'' (2007) and ''Myna'' (2013), along with his collaborations with Suri. Dharmasthala Temple
Dharmasthala Temple () is an 800-year-old Hindu religious institution in the temple town of Dharmasthala in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka, India. The deities of the temple are Hindu god Shiva, who is referred to as Mañjunatha, Hindu goddess Ammanavaru, the Tirthankara Chandraprabha and the protective gods of Jainism, Kalarahu, Kalarkayi, Kumarasvami and Kanyakumari. Veerendra Heggade
D. Veerendra Heggade (born November 25, 1948) is an Indian philanthropist and the hereditary administrator (Dharmadhikari) of the Dharmasthala Temple. He succeeded to the post at the age of 19, on October 24, 1968, the 21st in his line. He administers the temple and its properties, which are held in trust for the benefit of devotees and of Dharma. He is a nominated Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha since July 2022. He has received multiple awards for his numerous contributions. Ramakrishna Mahabaleshwar Hegde (29 August 1926 – 12 January 2004) was an Indian politician who served as the tenth Chief Minister of Karnataka for three terms between 1983 and 1988.
