Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Football
The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors football team represents the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in NCAA Division I FBS college football. It was part of the Western Athletic Conference until July 2012, when the team joined the Mountain West Conference. From 2000 until July 1, 2013, the football team was renamed to simply ''Warriors'', until a 2013 decision to standardize all of the school's athletic team names took effect, and the team was once again known as the ''Rainbow Warriors''. The Hawaii Warriors were the third team from a non automatic qualifier conference to play in a BCS bowl game. They played Georgia in the Sugar Bowl on January 1, 2008, in New Orleans, and lost 41–10. Otto Klum
Otto "Proc" Klum (October 17, 1892 – September 24, 1944) was an American football and basketball coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Hawaii from 1921 to 1939. Klum is the most successful coach in Hawaii football history having compiled a career record of 84–51–7. His 1925 team went 10–0. Klum was also the head basketball coach at Hawaii for two seasons from 1921 to 1923, tallying a mark of 13–8. Klum was notorious for running up the score. In the 1926 season, his team scored more than 100 points twice. His teams also scored more than 80 points in two other games in 1923 and 1925. Klum died on September 24, 1944, of a heart attack near Ashland, Oregon. He was born in Talent, Oregon Talent is a city in Jackson County, Oregon, United States. 1934 Hawaii Rainbows Football Team
The 1934 Hawaii Rainbows football team was an American football team that represented the University of Hawaii as an independent during the 1934 college football season. In its 14th season under head coach Otto Klum, the team compiled a perfect 6–0 record, shut out four of six opponents, and outscored opponents by a total of 142 to 21. The team's victories included games against Denver (36–14) and California (14–0). Tom Kaulukukui starred in the backfield for the 1934 team. His jersey number 32 was retired by the Hawaii football program.2018 Media Guide, p. 98. The 1925 Hawaii Deans football team was an American football team that represented the University of Hawaii as an independent during the 1925 college football season. In its fifth season under head coach Otto Klum, the team compiled a perfect 10–0 record, shut out eight of ten opponents, and outscored opponents by a total of 421 to 17. The team's victories included games against (13–0), Colorado Agricultural (41–0), and Washington State (20–11). The season was part of a 20-game winning streak by Hawaii that began with a January 1, 1924, victory over the 1923 Oregon Agricultural Aggies football team and ended on October 2, 1926, with a victory over a United States Army field artillery unit. The undefeated 1924 and 1925 Hawaii teams are known as the "Wonder Teams".
