The Ministry of Magic is the government of the Magical community of Britain in J. K. Rowling's Wizarding World, headed by an official entitled the Minister for Magic. The magical government in Britain is first mentioned in ''Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone''; the Ministry makes its first proper appearance in ''Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'' (2003).
