Hanoi Metro
The Hanoi Metro ( vi, Đường sắt đô thị Hà Nội, lit=Hanoi urban railway) is a rapid transit system in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. It is Vietnam's first rapid transit system. It is operated by Hanoi Metro Company (HMC). The first line ( Line 2A - Cat Linh Line) opened to service on 6 November 2021. The system includes elevated and underground sections. Another line ( Line 3 - Van Mieu Line) is under construction, and was expected to commence operations at the end of 2022, however, in September 2022, the authorities requested to extend the deadline to 2025, and increase the budget by a further VND1.9 trillion ($80.77m USD). The system will eventually consist of 8 lines with a total length of , and is initially expected to carry 200,000 passengers per day. Upon opening, daily ridership was at 12,000. Vietnam Railways (VNR, ) is the state-owned operator of the railway system in Vietnam. The principal route is the single-track North–South Railway line, running between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This was built at the metre gauge in the 1880s during the French colonial rule. There are also standard gauge lines running from Hanoi to the People’s Republic of China, eventually leading to Beijing, and some mixed gauge in and around Hanoi. Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts (a type of turnkey contract) are a form of contract used to undertake construction works by the private sector on large-scale and complex infrastructure projects. Overview Under an EPC contract, a contractor is obliged to deliver a complete facility to a developer who needs only "turn a key" to start operating the facility; hence EPC contracts are sometimes called turnkey construction contracts.
