Skutvika
Skutvika or Skutvik is a small village in the municipality of Hamarøy in Nordland county, Norway. The village is situated at the southwestern extreme of the Hamarøya peninsula, about north of the Bodø (town), town of Bodø, southwest of the Narvik (town), town of Narvik, and south of the town of Svolvær. To the west and south of Skutvik is the Økssundet, a Sound (geography), sound connecting the Sagfjorden (Nordland), Sagfjorden and Vestfjorden. Nordland (; smj, Nordlánnda, sma, Nordlaante, sme, Nordlánda, en, Northland) is a county in Norway in the Northern Norway region, the least populous of all 11 counties, bordering Troms og Finnmark in the north, Trøndelag in the south, Norrbotten County in Sweden to the east, Västerbotten County to the south-east, and the Atlantic Ocean (Norwegian Sea) to the west. Tysfjord ( smj, Divtasvuodna) is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1869 until its dissolution in 2020. The municipality was part of the traditional district of Ofoten. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Kjøpsvik. Other villages included Drag, Hundholmen, Korsnes, Musken, Rørvika, Skarberget, and Storå. Tysfjord had a very large population of Lule Sami people. The Árran Lule Sami Center was located in the village of Drag. With the Norwegian language and Lule Sami language both as official languages of the municipality, Tysfjord was the only municipality in Norway where speakers of Lule Sami should theoretically be able to speak that language with officials, although this has not come completely to fruition. Presteid
Presteid is a village in the municipality of Hamarøy in Nordland county, Norway. It is located immediately east of the village of Oppeid, along the Presteidfjorden. Presteid is part of the Oppeid urban area which has a population (2018) of 551. The village is the location of Hamarøy Church, the main church for the municipality. The famous Norwegian author Knut Hamsun lived in this village from the age of 9 until 14. He often wrote about Presteid in his works. Oppeid or Oppeide is the administrative centre of Hamarøy Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The village is located about southwest of the town of Narvik. Sagfjorden (Nordland)
or is a fjord in Nordland county, Norway. The long fjord forms part of the boundary between the municipalities of Hamarøy and Steigen. There are several large islands in the fjord as well: Finnøya, Nordland, Finnøya to the north and Lundøya and Engeløya at the mouth of the fjord where it joins the Vestfjorden. The fjord has narrow entrances between the islands and mainland peninsulas in the west, but in the central part of the fjord it reaches up to wide. The fjord reaches depths of up to in the Økssundet strait in the western part of the fjord.
