Georgia Force
The Georgia Force was an Arena Football League (AFL) team based in Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States (part of suburban Atlanta) that played in the South Division of the American Conference. The team was owned by Doug MacGregor and Donn Jennings. Following the termination of operations of the Arena Football League on August 4, 2009, Georgia Force officials quickly followed with a release that indicated that they, too, were ceasing operations. In 2010, the Alabama Vipers announced they would leave Huntsville, and would move to suburban Atlanta for the 2011 AFL season, once again playing home games at Arena at Gwinnett Center. Arena At Gwinnett Center
The Gas South Arena (originally known as the Gwinnett Civic Center Arena, later known as The Arena at Gwinnett Center and Infinite Energy Arena) is an indoor arena in Duluth, Georgia. It is located approximately northeast of Atlanta. The arena is one of the many venues within the "Gas South District", which also includes a convention center with a Ballroom, events hall and a performing arts center. Arthur M. Blank (born September 27, 1942) is an American businessman and a co-founder of the home improvement retailer The Home Depot. The Houston ThunderBears were a professional arena football team based in Houston, Texas. The team finished the 2001 season as a member of the Western Division of the American Conference of the Arena Football League (AFL). The team joined the AFL in 1996 as the expansion Texas Terror. After their first two years of existence, the franchise changed their name to the Houston ThunderBears. Kusanti Abdul-Salaam, birth name Andy Colbert, (born March 29, 1975) is a former Arena Football wide receiver/ defensive back who played for the Portland Forest Dragons, Oklahoma Wranglers, Tampa Bay Storm and Georgia Force. He played college football at UCLA. Highschool Kusanti attended John Muir High School. He lettered in football where he played quarterback and defensive back, track where he was a sprinter and hurdler, and basketball where he played point guard. He received a full scholarship to UCLA. Name change After a 35–17 loss to Arizona Andy Colbert changed his name to Kusanti Abdul-Salaam due to his conversion to the Islamic faith. The Florida Bobcats were an Arena Football League (AFL) team based in Sunrise, Florida. They were previously known as the Sacramento Attack and the Miami Hooters, and played in the AFL for a total of ten seasons, the last seven in West Palm Beach and Sunrise in the Miami metropolitan area. The team was founded in 1992 as the Sacramento Attack, based in Sacramento, California.
