Fuji (train)
The was a sleeper train that formerly operated between Tokyo Station, Tokyo and Ōita Station, Ōita in Japan. Operated by the Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) and classified as a limited express service, it was discontinued from the start of the revised timetable on 14 March 2009. Route The train was coupled with the ''Hayabusa (train), Hayabusa'' sleeper between Tokyo Station, Tokyo and Moji Station. The ''Hayabusa'' separated at Moji and continued to Hakata Station, Hakata and Kumamoto Station, Kumamoto. The 1,240 km Tokyo-Ōita run took just over seventeen hours, leaving Tokyo at 18:03 and arriving in Ōita at 11:17. Japanese Icebreaker Fuji (AGB-5001)
''Fuji'' (AGB-5001) was an icebreaker of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) in the mid-1960s. She is now a museum ship in Nagoya. Construction and career ''Fuji'' was laid down on 28 August 1964 and launched on 18 March 1965 by the Nippon Kokan Yokohama Shipyard. She was commissioned on 15 July 1965 and was homeported in Yokosuka. On November 20, 1965, she left Tokyo at Harumi Pier and received a container containing messages and newspapers dropped by the 1st Fleet Air Corps P2V-7 on the southeastern sea of Amami Oshima. During the voyage, while conducting departmental training, an offshore memorial service was held off the coast of the Philippines for the war dead of World War II. Japanese Battleship Fuji
was the lead ship of the of pre-dreadnought battleships built for the Imperial Japanese Navy by the British firm of Thames Iron Works in the late 1890s. The ship participated in the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–1905, including the Battle of Port Arthur on the second day of the war with her sister . ''Fuji'' fought in the Battles of the Yellow Sea and Tsushima and was lightly damaged in the latter action. The ship was reclassified as a coastal defence ship in 1910 and served as a training ship for the rest of her career. She was hulked in 1922 and finally broken up for scrap in 1948.
