Force Headquarters Group
Force Headquarters Group (FHG) is a major subordinate command (MSC) of the United States Marine Corps based in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was established as a part of the command element for Marine Forces Reserve. It was activated on July 18, 2012, assuming command of six MARFORRES Force-level units: 3rd and 4th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Companies, 3rd and 4th Civil Affairs Groups, 6th Communications Battalion and Intelligence Support Battalion. Previously, these units reported to Lt. Gen. Steven Hummer, the commander of Marine Forces Reserve. As a result of the Commandant-directed Force Structure Review Group, the units were realigned under the new MSC to streamline the command and control process, making it more effective. United States Marine Corps

Marine Forces Reserve
The Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES or MFR), also known as the United States Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR) and the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve, is the reserve force of the United States Marine Corps. It is the largest command, by assigned personnel, in the U.S. Marine Corps. Marines in the Reserve go through the same training and work in the same Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) as their active-duty counterparts. Steven Hummer
Steven A. Hummer (born July 1, 1952) is a retired United States Marine Corps lieutenant general who served as Deputy to the Commander for Military Operations for United States Africa Command (AFRICOM). Hummer previously served as Commander, United States Marine Corps Forces Reserve and Marine Forces Northern Command. After enlisting in the Marine Corps in 1970 and an honorable discharge as a sergeant in 1973, he was commissioned following graduation from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, in 1977. 1st Civil Affairs Group (1st CAG) is a civil affairs (CA) unit of the United States Marine Corps based at Camp Pendleton, California. 3rd Civil Affairs Group (3D CAG) is a civil affairs (CA) unit of the United States Marine Corps based at Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois. 4th Civil Affairs Group (4th CAG) is a civil affairs unit of the United States Marine Corps. It is based in Hialeah, Florida. For information on 4th CAG prior to 2012, see 2nd Civil Affairs Group, which was formed out of the original 4th CAG in Washington D.C. It is one of only four civil affairs groups in the Marine Corps, all of which are reserve units. 4th CAG was the first civil affairs group in the Marine Corps and mostly supports II MEF. 6th Communication Battalion (6th Comm) is a communications battalion in the United States Marine Corps. It is part of Force Headquarters Group (FHG) Marine Forces Reserve. The unit is headquartered out of Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn, New York. Intelligence Support Battalion
The Intelligence Support Battalion (ISB) is the battalion in the United States Marine Corps which provides military intelligence for the Marine Forces Reserve. It is part of the Force Headquarters Group. Marine Corps Individual Reserve Support Activity
The Marine Corps Individual Reserve Support Activity (MCIRSA) is a subordinate unit within Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) that provides support for all Individual Ready Reserve (IRR), Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) and Mobilized Training Unit Marine reservists. It falls under the Force Headquarters Group. Individual Ready Reserve MCIRSA exercises centralized command and administration of the IRR.
