Football In Afghanistan
Football is one of the two most popular sports in Afghanistan; the other one being cricket. Early History According to the Afghanistan Football Federation, the first Afghan football club was Mahmoudiyeh F.C., which was founded in 1934. Their men's team traveled to India three years later and took part in 18 games of which 8 were won, 9 lost and 1 tied. Ariana Kabul F.C. was established in 1941 and became the second Afghan football club. This team sent a men's team to Tehran upon invitation from Iran, played 3 games in which 1 was won and 2 were lost. Nothing is known about the early history of women's football in the country. In 1948, the Afghanistan Football Federation joined FIFA and sent a men's national team to the UK to compete in the 1948 Summer Olympics. They lost their only match in a preliminary round 0-6 to Luxembourg national football team. A Afghanistan women's national football team is only recognized by the Federation since 2007. Ordu Kabul F
Ordu () or Altınordu is a port city on the Black Sea coast of Turkey, historically also known as Cotyora or Kotyora ( pnt, Κοτύωρα), and the capital of Ordu Province with a population of 229,214 in the city center. Name Kotyora, the original name of the city is a legacy of indigenous Colchis, Colchians. The name is allegedly composed of an old Laz language, Laz word for pottery ('Koto', similar to Mingrelian language, Mingrelian 'Koto', Georgian language, Georgian 'Kotani' and Laz 'Katana') and a common Kartvelian languages, Kartvelian suffix indicating belonging ('Uri'). In Zan languages, Zan (aka Colchian) Kotyora means a place where pottery is made. Ashiana BK
Ashiana Ball Club – Afghan football, basketball and volleyball club, established in 1985 as a team of workers of the city of Qunduz. In 2000 the team is in the Turkey and is called "AZ Qunduzspor." Previously, the team was called Ashiana, but recently merged team Ashiana and team sports society Afghans working in the Diaspora "Zoalqadar" into a single command "AZ Qunduzspor." In 2009, AS Kunduzspor received a new status. Sports club regained its former name Ashiana BC and now includes football, basketball, and volleyball komandu.
