Football at the 1994 Asian Games was held in Hiroshima, Japan from 1 to 16 October 1994. The Asian Football Confederation suggested that only under-23 teams should be entered, which meant that all the players had to be born after January 1, 1971. But this was ignored by all participants except Saudi Arabia. The women's tournament doubled the Asian qualification of 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup in Sweden, where China and Japan qualified. Berdakh Allaniyazov
Berdakh, pseudonym of Berdimurat son of Gargabay ( Karakalpak: ''Бердақ; Бердимурат Ғарғабай улы,'' 1827–1900) was a Karakalpak poet. He was born in Karakalpakstan, in a remote village near modern-day Muynak. His father was a poor fisherman and his mother, who gave him the nickname Berdakh, died when he was 10 years old. His father also died while Berdakh was still a child, and so Berdakh became an orphan. Berdakh studied in a mektep and at the same time he grazed his fellow villagers' cattle. His brother helped him to go to Karakum madrasah, a Muslim religious school, but Berdakh dropped out from the school because of his freethinking poetry. The young poet began to study folk poetry and narrative classical masterpieces of the East. His tutor Kunxoja (1799–1880), who was famous for his folk poetry, helped him with his poetry. Stepan Atayan (russian: Степан Атаян; born 13 July 1966) is a retired Uzbek international football player who played as a midfielder and was awarded in 1993 as one of the three Best Footballers of the Year. Shukhrat Maqsudov is a former Uzbekistan footballer, who played for Pakhtakor and FK Neftchi in Uzbek League in position of the forward. Playing career Club Maqsudov was born in Uzbekistan and started his professional career at local Angren club, Tashkent Province. 1991 he moved to Pakhtakor and started to play first for reserve team of the club and later for main team. Azamat Abduraimov (born 27 April 1966) is a former Uzbek professional football player, who represented Uzbekistan national football team on 22 occasions between 1992 and 1997. Abdikokhor Marifaliev (russian: Абдукаххор Марифалиев; born 1 May 1971) is a former Uzbekistan international football player and manager.
