FC Nordsjælland
Football Club Nordsjælland, commonly known as FC Nordsjælland, Nordsjælland () or FCN, is a professional Danish football team from the North Zealand town of Farum. Founded as ''Farum Boldklub'' from the merger of the town's two football clubs Farum IK and Stavnsholt BK in 1991, the club changed its name to FC Nordsjælland in 2003. FCN plays in the Danish Superliga, winning its first medal in the 2002–03 season, taking third place. Farum Municipality
Farum municipality was a municipality (Danish '' kommune'') in the northeast of the island of Zealand in eastern Denmark. On January 1, 2007 it merged with Værløse municipality to form the new Furesø municipality as a consequence of Denmark's Municipal Reform. Geography The municipality had a population of 18,662 (2005), covered an area of 23 km², and was, according to size, the smallest municipality of Frederiksborg County. The main town and the site of its municipal council was Farum. Other villages were Bregnerød and Stavnsholt. Neighboring municipalities were Birkerød to the east, Allerød to the north, Stenløse to the southwest and Værløse to the south. Peter Brixtofte
Peter Brixtofte (11 December 1949 – 2016) was a Danish politician who was member of the Danish Parliament (Folketinget) representing Venstre from 1973 to 1977, from 1979 to 1981, during 1983 and from 1990 to 8 February 2005. Brixtofte served as the Tax Minister of Denmark from 19 November 1992 to 24 January 1993. He was also Mayor of Farum, and was criminally convicted for actions taken while holding that municipal office and was later jailed. He was the brother of Brixx Member, Jens Brixtofte. Farum Park
Right to Dream Park, historically known as Farum Park, is a football stadium, located in Farum, Denmark, and is the home ground of FC Nordsjælland. It has a capacity of 10,300 of which 9,800 are seated. Farum Park is the first stadium in the Danish Superliga with an artificial turf, installed in 2012. The grass is from Limonta Sport - a leading company in the production and distribution of synthetic grass for sports. Hareskovbanen (English: ''the Hareskov line'') is one of six radial S-train lines in Copenhagen. It connects the city center to a number of northwestern suburbs and the cities of Værløse and Farum, with the terminus placed in the latter. History The line was opened in 1906 as part of the private ''København-Slangerup Jernbane'' which went to Slangerup, about two thirds from Farum to Frederikssund. Peter Lassen
Peter Lassen (October 31, 1800 – April 26, 1859), later known in Spanish as Don Pedro Lassen, was a Danish-born Californian ranchero and gold prospector. Born in Denmark, Lassen immigrated at age 30 to Massachusetts, before eventually finally moving to California (then a part of Mexico). In California, Lassen became a Mexican citizen and received the vast Rancho Bosquejo from Governor Manuel Micheltorena. He is best known as the eponym of Lassen County, California, Lassen Peak, and Lassen Volcanic National Park. Early life Peter Lassen was born in Farum, Denmark, and immigrated in 1830 to Boston, Massachusetts. Povl Dissing
Povl Dissing (27 January 1938 – 18 July 2022) was a Danish singer, composer, guitarist, and harmonica player. He made his album debut with ''En aften i folkeklubben'' in 1965. His public breakthrough came in 1973 with the album ', a collaboration with poet Benny Andersen, whom he has cooperated closely with since. In 2006, ''Svantes viser'' was selected for the Danish Culture Canon. Povl Dissing grew up in Stavnsholt, a small village near Farum north of Copenhagen, and was educated commercial artist from which he made a living before turning to music full time. Originally he played the trumpet and jazz music, but an injuring accident in his early youth made him take up the guitar instead. Zealand (Denmark)
Zealand ( da, Sjælland ) at 7,031 km2 is the largest and most populous island in Denmark proper (thus excluding Greenland and Disko Island, which are larger in size). Dagmar Margrethe Kristine Starcke née Kaae (1899–1975) was a Danish painter and textile artist who is remembered for her pictorial collages and woven textile works. Several of her creations are in the permanent collection at the Worker's Museum in Copenhagen.
