FC Karpaty Halych ( uk, Футбольний клуб «Карпати») is a professional Ukrainian football club from the historical city of Halych. The team is currently playing Ukrainian Second League. The club was formed back in 1949 as Kolhospnyk Halych, part of the Kolos sports society. In 2000–2009 it was a farm club of FC Enerhetyk Burshtyn. History The team was founded in 1949. The club also represents the city of Burshtyn and in 2000–2009 was a farm club of FC Enerhetyk Burshtyn. In 2019 the club merged with Enerhetyk Burshtyn. Since 2020 it serves as a farm club of FC Karpaty Lviv. "Karpaty" debuted in the Ukrainian Second League in the 2020–21 season. Burshtyn
Burshtyn ( uk, Буршти́н, translit=Burshtyn) is a city located in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, in western Ukraine, to the north of Halych. It is accessible by rail. Burshtyn hosts the administration of Burshtyn urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: It developed rapidly and significantly grew in population during the Soviet period. Administratively, Burshtyn is incorporated as a city of regional significance. The town, which was one of the Jewish shtetls, and whose name in Ukrainian and Polish literally means ''amber'', was only granted city status in 1993 and has a special administrative status in Halych Raion. As an urbanized settlement from 1944 to 1962, it was the main town of the raion. There is an old Roman Catholic Church in the center of the city, which was restored at the beginning of the 21st century. Andriy Yaroslavovych Melnychuk ( uk, Андрій Ярославович Мельничук, Andrii Yaroslavovych Melnychuk; born 14 November 1978) is a Ukrainian professional football manager and former player. Career In 1999 he made his debut for FC Bukovyna Chernivtsi. At the Ukrainian Premier League Melnychuk debuted for FC Naftovyk Okhtyrka in 2007 playing only 6 games and losing in 5 of them. In 2010 he went abroad to the Uzbek League joining FC Qizilqum Zarafshon from the central Uzbekistan. In 2016 he joined coaching staff of FC Stal Kamianske. In 2019 Melnychuk was appointed a manager of his home city club Bukovyna. In 2020-2022 he assisted in reestablishment of the historical Chernivtsi sports club Dovbush.
