FC Baník Prievidza
FC Baník Prievidza is a Slovak football club, playing in the town of Prievidza. Between 1993 and 2000, Prievidza played in the highest level of Slovak football, the Corgoň liga. Following the 2006–07 season, HFK Prievidza was promoted to the Slovak First League (second level of Slovak football). The club finished in 6th place for the 2007–08 season. Beginning with the 2008–09 season, the club changed its name to FK Mesto Prievidza. In 2009–10, the club withdrew from the Slovak First League. Futbalový štadión Prievidza
Futbalový štadión Prievidza is a multi-use stadium in Prievidza, Slovakia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FC Baník Horná Nitra. The stadium holds 7,500 people (2,500 seating). Reconstruction In 2016, the reconstruction of the stadium began, worth €1.25 million. Slovak government provided €750,000 of the cost. Karol Jokl
Karol Jokl (29 August 1945 – 28 October 1996) was a Slovak football player and manager. He played for ŠK Slovan Bratislava and Czechoslovakia. Between 1963 and 1975 he played in the Czechoslovak First League for ŠK Slovan Bratislava, scoring a total of 69 goals in 245 matches. Among his greatest honours is winning the 1968–69 European Cup Winners' Cup, as well as two league titles and two Czechoslovak Cups. Jokl made his debut for the national team of Czechoslovakia at the age of 18, going on to score 11 goals in 27 matches for his country. He played in all three of Czechoslovakia's matches at the 1970 FIFA World Cup. Martin Petráš
Martin Petráš (born 2 November 1979 in Bojnice) is a Slovak football central defender who previously played for A.C. Delta Porto Tolle. He made 38 appearances for the Slovakia national football team. He measures 186 cm, weighing 82 kg. Career Having previously played with Baník Prievidza in his homeland, Petráš moved to the Czech Republic with FK Jablonec 97 in 2000, before joining Sparta Prague in 2002. During the 2005–06 season he scored a goal for his club in the Champions League against Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam. Following this he was purchased by FBK Kaunas in January 2006 and immediately loaned to Scottish side Heart of Midlothian. After only 5 appearances for the Edinburgh club, Petráš returned to FBK Kaunas and was released in July 2006. Ladislav Petráš
Ladislav Petráš (born 1 December 1946) is a former Slovak football player. He played 19 matches for Czechoslovakia national team and scored six goals. Petráš was a participant at the 1970 FIFA World Cup, where he played three matches and scored two goals. Petráš also took part in the Euro 1976, where his team won the gold medal. After scoring Czechoslovakia's only goal against Brazil, Petráš celebrated kneeling and doing the sign of the cross, demonstrating his Catholic faith in defiance against the Communist regime in Czechoslovakia, which was contrary to any religious belief. Anton Malatinský
Anton Malatinský (15 January 1920 – 1 December 1992) was a Slovak football player and coach. He was a technically adept playmaking midfielder and, as a coach, he was regarded as a good strategist. Malatinský won two Czechoslovak First League titles as a player and a further three as manager. In his coaching capacity he also led his teams to the Mitropa Cup and two Czechoslovak Cups. František Kubík
František Kubík (born 14 March 1989) is a Slovak footballer who plays as a winger or left back for an amateur side OFK Lehota pod Vtáčnikom. Club career Kubík started his career in hometown club HFK Prievidza. In winter 2008, he moved to the Second Division club AS Trenčín.
