Eslamabad-e Gharb County
Eslamabad-e Gharb County ( fa, شهرستان اسلام‌آباد غرب) is in Kermanshah province, Kermanshah province, Iran, part of what is unofficially referred to as Iranian Kurdistan. The capital of the county is the city of Eslamabad-e Gharb. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 149,376 in 34,270 households. The following census in 2011 counted 151,473 people in 40,086 households. At the 2016 census, the county's population was 140,876 in 40,911 households. Administrative divisions The population history of Eslamabad-e Gharb County's administrative divisions over three consecutive censuses is shown in the following table. Kalhor Tribe
Kalhor () is a Kurdish tribe and their dialect, "Kalhori", has been categorized as a branch of Southern Kurdish. History The tribe is described as the most powerful tribe in the province of Kermanshah and the surrounding region, and also described as "one of the most ancient, if not the most ancient, of the tribes of Kurdistan". The Kalhoris were mentioned by Sharaf-al-Din Bedlisi in the late 16th century, according to whom, the chiefs of the Kalhor claimed to be descended from Giv, the son of Goudarz (q.v.), a major hero in the Shahnameh. Areas Kalhor tribe populate cities and towns such as Sarpol-e Zahab, Gilan-e Gharb, Eslamabad-e Gharb, Eyvan and Zarneh in Iran. In Iraq, they mainly populate Khanaqin. The tribe has over 260,000 members in Kermanshah province. Iranian Kurdistan
Iranian Kurdistan or Eastern Kurdistan ( ku, ڕۆژھەڵاتی کوردستان, translit=Rojhilatê Kurdistanê) is an unofficial name for the parts of northwestern Iran with either a majority or sizable population of Kurds.
