The Politics of Lazio, Italy takes place in a framework of a presidential representative democracy, whereby the President of Regional Government is the head of government, and of a pluriform multi-party system. Francesco Rocca (politician)
Francesco Rocca (born 1 September 1965) is an Italian manager and politician, President of Lazio since 2023. Biography First activities Rocca approached volunteering from the early years of his university studies in law: first alongside the Jesuit Refugee Service, then with Caritas, and finally with the Piccola casa della Divina Provvidenza. During his university years, he enrolled in the Youth Front, the youth organization of the Italian Social Movement. In the mid-1990s he began his commitment to the world of healthcare as a manager: from 1996 to 2004, he was president and Commissioner of the Public Institute of assistance and charity (IPAB) "Santa Maria in Aquiro", while from 2001 to 2003 President of IPAB "Asilo della Patria". The centre-right coalition ( it, coalizione di centro-destra) is an alliance of political parties in Italy, active—under several forms and names—since 1994, when Silvio Berlusconi entered politics and formed his Forza Italia party. Despite its name, the alliance mostly falls on the right-wing of the political spectrum. In the 1994 general election, under the leadership of Berlusconi, the centre-right ran with two coalitions, the Pole of Freedoms in northern Italy and Tuscany (mainly Forza Italia and the Northern League) and the Pole of Good Government (mainly Forza Italia and National Alliance) in central and southern Italy. 1970 Lazio Regional Election
The Lazio regional election of 1970 took place on 7–8 June 1970. Events Christian Democracy (Italy), Christian Democracy resulted the largest party, followed by the Italian Communist Party. After the election Christian Democrat Girolamo Mechelli formed a centre-left government which included the Italian Socialist Party, the Italian Democratic Socialist Party, Unitary Socialist Party and the Italian Republican Party (organic Centre-left).
