The province of the West Kalimantan in Indonesia is divided into regencies which in turn are divided administratively into districts, known as ''Kecamatan''. A province is almost always an administrative division within a country or sovereign state, state. Kubu Raya Regency
Kubu Raya Regency or Great Kubu Regency is a regency of West Kalimantan, Indonesia. It was created on 17 July 2007 from the (larger) central and southern part of Pontianak Regency. It covers an area of 6,985.24 km2, and it had a population of 500,970 at the 2010 Census and 609,392 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 615,125. The principal town lies at Sungai Raya, directly adjacent to the City of Pontianak. Despite its close location to Pontianak, the regional capital and economic centre of the West Kalimantan Province, Kubu Raya highly lacks sufficient infrastructure development, which causes general suspicions on the performance of its local government. Singkawang
Singkawang or Sakawokng in Dayak Salako or San-Khew-Jong ( hak, 山口洋), is a city located in the province of West Kalimantan, on the island of Borneo in Indonesia. It is located at about 145 km north of Pontianak, the provincial capital, and is surrounded by the Pasi, Poteng, and Sakkok mountains. Singkawang is derived from the Salako languange, which refers to a very wide area of swamps (all swamps). In addition, the ancestors of the Hakka Chinese community in Sakawokng also named this area in Hakka as "San-Khew-Jong" (Mount-Mouth-Sea), which means "A city located at the foot of a mountain near the sea and has a river that flows up to the mouth of the river (estuary)." North Kayong Regency
North Kayong Regency is a regency of West Kalimantan province in Indonesia. It covers an area of 4,568.26 km2, and had a population of 95,594 at the 2010 Census and 126,571 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 128,009. The principal town lies in Sukadana. The nearest airport is Ketapang Airport. Pontianak, Indonesia
Pontianak or Khuntien is the capital of the Indonesian province of West Kalimantan, founded first as a trading port on the island of Borneo, occupying an area of 118.31 km2 in the river delta, delta of the Kapuas River at a point where it is joined by its major tributary, the Landak River. Bengkayang Regency
Bengkayang Regency () is a regency ("''kabupaten''") in West Kalimantan Province of Indonesia, (on the island of Borneo). The area was originally a part of Sambas Regency, but following the expansion of the population in that area, Sambas Regency was divided into a smaller Sambas Regency and a new Bengkayang Regency in 1999, and then Singkawang City was subsequently cut out of Bengkayang Regency in 2001. The regency now covers an area of 5,396.30 km2, and had a population of 215,277 at the 2010 Census and 286,366 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 290,943. Kapuas Hulu Regency is a regency in West Kalimantan province of Indonesia. Located around Kapuas River, it has a total area of 29,842.03 square kilometres or around 20.26% of West Kalimantan province's area.
