Dick Schoof
Hendrikus Wilhelmus Maria "Dick" Schoof is a Dutch civil servant. Currently in function of secretary-general at the Ministry of Justice and Security, per 1 March 2020. Career Schoof was born in the Dutch village of Santpoort. He studied urban and regional planning at the Radboud University Nijmegen from 1975 to 1982 and worked at the Association of Netherlands Municipalities. In 1988 he became civil servant at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (Netherlands), Ministry of Education, Culture and Sciences and in 1996 he was appointed as deputy secretary-general at the Ministry of Justice. The Association of Netherlands Municipalities ( nl, Vereniging van Nederlandse Gemeenten or VNG) was established in 1912 by 28 Dutch cities, at a time when the number of tasks delegated to municipalities saw a rapid increase. As a result of this increase, there was a greater need for information, exchange of experiences, as well as for an organisation that could represent the interests of its members at a central government level. National Coordinator For Security And Counterterrorism
The National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism ( Dutch ''Nationaal Coördinator Terrorismebestrijding en Veiligheid''), abbreviated as NCTV, is the principal Dutch counter-terrorism unit. It was established in January 2005 as the ''Nationaal Coördinator Terrorismebestrijding'' (NCTb); the unit was enlarged and renamed in October 2012. Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17/MAS17) was a scheduled passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur that was shot down by Russian forces on 17 July 2014, while flying over eastern Ukraine. All 283 passengers and 15 crew were killed.
