Deathwish Inc.
Deathwish Inc. is an American independent record label conceived by Jacob Bannon of Converge and Tre McCarthy in 2000. Their first release was '' Deeper the Wound'', a split album between Converge and Japanese band Hellchild on April 23, 2001. Deathwish established itself quickly, working with a diverse group of bands and eventually becoming one of the most respected and innovative labels in contemporary hardcore punk and aggressive music in general. After having previously worked with RED Distribution, in March 2016, Deathwish signed a global deal with Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA), an independent distribution label under Warner Music Group that has also partnered with other punk labels including Epitaph Records, Rise Records, and Run for Cover Records. Deathwish, Inc. has also expanded into releasing exclusive archived prints from various artists, which include Jacob Bannon. Epitaph Records is an American independent record label owned by Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz. A large portion of the record label, known as Hellcat Records, is owned by Tim Armstrong, frontman of the punk rock band Rancid. Several sister labels also exist, such as ANTI-, Burning Heart Records, Hellcat Records, and Heart & Skull Records that have signed other types of bands. Alex Garcia-Rivera is an American rock drummer, drum-tech and recording engineer from Boston, Massachusetts. He has been the drummer for the bands Shelter, Piebald, Good Clean Fun, Bloodhorse, 454 Big Block, Saves The Day, Cold Cave, but is best known as the drummer for hardcore/punk band American Nightmare. He also performs all instruments in a solo band under the moniker Chrome Over Brass and owns and operates Mystic Valley Studio, an all-analog recording studio in Medford, Massachusetts. Touring band member Alex Garcia-Rivera has been a touring drummer for the bands Shelter, Better Than a Thousand, Saves the Day, Piebald, Avoid One Thing, and Cold Cave. Iodine Recordings is an independent record label based in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Iodine Recordings releases punk music, punk, hardcore punk, hardcore, and indie rock music. It was once home to bands such as Brand New (band), Brand New, Orange Island, Smoke or Fire (Jericho RVA), There Were Wires, Gregor Samsa (band), Gregor Samsa, and more. Iodine started as a record distribution company in 1996 in music, 1996 formed by Casey Horrigan. Iodine later evolved into a record label with its first release in 2000, a compilation CD titled "Ghost in the Gears" featuring popular hardcore bands such as Converge (band), Converge, Cave In, Zegota, and Good Clean Fun (band), Good Clean Fun.
