Alex Andrew Darrow (born October 4, 1993) is an American entrepreneur best known for founding the fiscally sponsored non-profit organization PictureTheWorld. As of February 2010, he is one of the youngest executive directors of an established non-profit organization in the world. Personal life Darrow was born in Santa Clara, California to Landy, a civil engineer, and Andrew, also a civil engineer. Darrow, along with his younger brother, was raised in Auburn, California. John Darrow
John Darrow (born Harry Simpson; 17 July 1907 – 24 February 1980) was an American actor of the late silent and early talking film eras. Biography Born in Leonia, New Jersey in 1907, Darrow began acting in theater with a stock company, right after graduating high school. Shortly after, he would begin his film career with a featured role in the 1927 silent film, ''High School Hero''. After several films with featured roles, he was cast as the lead in 1931's ''The Lady Refuses'', which co-stars Betty Compson and was directed by George Archainbaud. He would spend the next five years in leading man or featured roles, before retiring from acting in 1935. He would appear in five films that year, although four of them were produced in 1934. His final screen appearance would be in a supporting role in ''Annapolis Farewell''. ''Mystic'' is a comic book that was published by the Florida-based CrossGen Comics. Created by writer Ron Marz and artists Brandon Peterson and John Dell, it was one of five flagship titles in the company's Sigilverse shared universe. Plot summary Set on the planet Ciress, in which sorcery is an apprenticed profession organized in guilds, the story centered on sisters Genevieve and Giselle. Darrow School is an independent, mixed-sex education, co-educational university-preparatory school, college-preparatory school for boarding and day students in grades 9-12 and PG. Its New Lebanon, New York, New Lebanon campus is a property just to the west of the boundary between New York and Massachusetts in the Taconic Mountains and within the Berkshires, Berkshire cultural region. History The school's campus is located at the site of the largest and most industrious Shakers, Shaker community in the country. Darrow opened in the fall of 1932 as the Lebanon School for Boys. William Darrow is a professor of public health at Florida International University. Before accepting a position at FIU in August 1994, Darrow served as Chief of the Behavioral and Prevention Research Branch, Division of STD/HIV Prevention, at the National Center for Prevention Services of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Darrow has published over 100 scientific papers in professional academic journal, journals, books, and research monographs. His role in the discovery of the AIDS virus, HIV, was described in Randy Shilts' 1987 book ''And the Band Played On''. Sara Lynn Darrow (née Frizzell; born July 29, 1970) is the Chief United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois. She was formerly an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois, where she was chief of the violent crimes section. Paul Darrow (born Paul Valentine Birkby; 2 May 1941 – 3 June 2019) was an English actor. He became best known for playing Kerr Avon in the BBC science fiction television series ''Blake's 7'' between 1978 and 1981. His many television roles included two appearances in another BBC science fiction series, ''Doctor Who'', playing Captain Hawkins in '' Doctor Who and the Silurians'' (1970) and Tekker in ''Timelash'' (1985). Henry Darrow (born Enrique Tomás Delgado Jiménez; September 15, 1933 – March 14, 2021) was an American character actor of stage and film known for his role as Manolito "Mano" Montoya on the 1960s television series ''The High Chaparral''. In film, Darrow played the corrupt and vengeful Trooper Hancock in ''The Hitcher (1986 film), The Hitcher''. During the 1970s and 1980s, he was seen in numerous guest starring television roles. Benjamin Darrow
Benjamin Darrow (14 November 1868 – October 1911) was a lawyer, politician and author. He served as a District Attorney in New York City around the turn of the century, was a prominent Deist and later nominee for Mayor of New York. Darrow was born in Liberty, New York. He attended Phillips Andover preparatory academy. He spent his undergraduate years at Harvard University, wherein he gained membership to the prestigious Hasty Pudding Club, after which he went to Yale Law School. Darrow famously prosecuted the Phelps-McMurphy case and was subsequently elected District Attorney for Kings County, the Borough of Brooklyn, New York. He died a month short of his forty-third birthday in October 1911, after being run over by a wagon while crossing Bedford Avenue.
