Dallas Sidekicks (2012–present)
The Dallas Sidekicks are an American professional indoor soccer team based in Allen, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. The team plays its home games in the Credit Union of Texas Event Center. They kicked off their inaugural season as a member of the Professional Arena Soccer League on November 3, 2012. The Sidekicks segued to the new Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) for its inaugural season on October 25, 2014. The team took a leave of absence on September 19, 2017, for one season to re-organize. On July 24, 2018, it was announced that the Dallas Sidekicks would return for the 2018–2019 season. History The team was named after the original Dallas Sidekicks that operated from 1984 to 2004. Credit Union Of Texas Event Center
The Credit Union of Texas Event Center (formerly Allen Event Center) is an American 6,275 fixed-seat multi-purpose indoor arena located in Allen, Texas, a northern suburb of Dallas. The arena opened in 2009 under the name Allen Event Center. Construction cost was $52.6 million ($63.5 million in 2020 dollars). The City of Allen sold the naming rights to the arena to the Credit Union of Texas in 2021 for a seven-year term at $325,000 per year. The center hosts the home games of the ECHL's Allen Americans and the relaunched Dallas Sidekicks of the Major Arena Soccer League. The Miss Texas pageant relocated to the center for 2012 and 2013. David Doyle (soccer)
David Doyle (born August 8, 1965) is an Irish soccer forward who spent seventeen seasons playing indoor soccer in the United States. He was the 1987–1988 Major Indoor Soccer League Rookie of the Year, was the 1996 and 1999 indoor soccer scoring champion and a six time first team All Star. College Doyle attended Campbell University where he played on the men's soccer team from 1983 to 1986. He led the country in scoring, with 34 goals, as a senior. He finished his career 72 goals and 19 assists for a school record 286 points. He was a 1986 second team All American and was inducted into the Campbell Hall of Fame in 2006. Professional The Kansas City Comets of Major Indoor Soccer League drafted Doyle in the first round (third overall) in the 1987 MISL College Draft. He was the 1987–1988 MISL Rookie of the Year. Tulsa Revolution
The Tulsa Revolution was a professional indoor soccer team from Tulsa, Oklahoma, which began play in the Professional Arena Soccer League with the 2013–14 season then segued to the Major Arena Soccer League for the 2014–15 season. The team was co-owned by Adam Mellor and Shannon Clark. Under the leadership of head coach Alex Miranda, the Revolution played their 2015 home games in the Expo Square Pavilion at the Tulsa State Fairgrounds in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Oxford City FC of Texas was an American professional indoor soccer team based in Beaumont, Texas. The team joined the Professional Arena Soccer League on September 26, 2012, as the Texas Strikers. Play in the team's 2012–13 Texas Strikers season, inaugural season began in November 2012. In May 2014, the league changed its name to Major Arena Soccer League. The team played at Ford Arena. The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), originally known as the National Indoor Soccer League, was a professional indoor soccer league which began play in 2008. It was the third league to be known as the Major Indoor Soccer League after the MISL I and MISL II. Hidalgo La Fiera
Hidalgo La Fiera (also known as "La Fiera FC") was an American professional indoor soccer team based in Hidalgo, Texas. They played in the Southern Division of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). The team was founded in 2012 as the Rio Grande Valley Flash when the Monterrey Flash left the Liga Mexicana de Futbol Rápido Profesional to move to Texas and the Professional Arena Soccer League. The PASL was rebranded as the MASL in May 2014. The team fell into financial disarray and, unable to reorganize, resigned their membership in the MASL effective December 23, 2014. The 2013–14 US Open Arena Soccer Championship is the sixth edition of an open knockout style tournament for arena/indoor soccer. In this edition, teams from the Professional Arena Soccer League, Premier Arena Soccer League, and other independent indoor soccer teams are participating in the single elimination tournament. Unlike a traditional tournament where many teams will gather at a single site to play a series of matches in a short period of time, the US Open Arena Soccer Championship incorporates a series of qualifying tournaments, special matches, and the regular season meetings of teams in the Professional Arena Soccer League over a series of months to fill out then complete the tournament bracket. The Wichita B-52s was an American professional indoor soccer team based in Wichita, Kansas. Founded in July 2013, the team made its debut in the Professional Arena Soccer League with the 2013–14 season under head coach Larry Inlow.
