The Czech Olympic Committee ( cs, Český olympijský výbor) is the National Olympic Committee (NOC) representing the Czech Republic. Karel Gut
Karel Gut (16 September 1927 – 6 January 2014) was a Czech ice hockey player and coach, who later worked in sports management. He was born in Prague and later played in the Czechoslovak Extraliga. While Gut played soccer in his youth, he was better known as an, "offensive-minded hockey defenseman". Gut was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 1998, and has also been inducted into the Czechoslovakian Ice Hockey Hall of Fame. He died on January 6, 2014, at the age of 86. Playing career Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, Gut eventually began playing in the Czechoslovak Extraliga with Praha ATK. He later played for Tatra Smichov from 1951 to 1953. He would play the rest of his career with Spartak Praha Sokolova TJ. Gut also captained the Czechoslovakia men's national ice hockey team from 1952 to 1960. Vlastimil Bubník (; 18 March 1931 – 6 January 2015) was a Czech ice hockey player and footballer. Bubník was born in Kelč, Czechoslovakia, and played in the Czechoslovak Extraliga. He played for HC Brno and Královo Pole. He also won a bronze medal at the 1964 Winter Olympics. He was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 1997. He was tied with Canada's Harry Watson and Soviet Union's Valeri Kharlamov for the all-time Olympic scoring lead, until he was surpassed by Finland's Teemu Selänne in the 2010 Winter Olympics During his football career he played for RH Brno. Věra Suchánková-Hamplová (29 October 1932 – 12 February 2004) was a Czech pair skater who competed internationally for Czechoslovakia. With her skating partner, Zdeněk Doležal, she was the 1958 World silver medalist and a two-time European champion (1957, 1958). They represented Czechoslovakia at the 1956 Winter Olympics and placed 8th. Suchánková was born on 29 October 1932 in Pardubice. Her sports club was Rapid Pardubice. She also played tennis, winning a national junior-level tournament in 1951. After retiring from competition, she worked as a skating coach in Karlovy Vary. She died on 12 February 2004 in Pila, Karlovy Vary District. In 2016, Pardubice named Suchánková as one of the athletes to be included in the city's planned sports hall of fame.
