Czech Republic National Badminton Team
The Czech Republic national badminton team ( cz, Českou reprezentaci v badmintonu) represents Czech Republic in international badminton team competitions. The Czech team competed in the 1991 Sudirman Cup under the Czechoslovakia national badminton team merged with Slovakia. The national team was formed after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1992 and the Czech Republic and Slovakia were separated into two different national teams. The Czech Badminton Federation is the governing body that controls the national team. The 2024 Thomas & Uber Cup (officially known as the TotalEnergies BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2024 for sponsorship reasons) was the 33rd edition of the Thomas Cup and the 30th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF). The 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup (officially known as the TotalEnergies BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2022 for sponsorship reasons) is the 32nd edition of the Thomas Cup and the 29th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF). The 2020 Thomas & Uber Cup (officially known as the TotalEnergies BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2020 for sponsorship reasons) was the 31st edition of the Thomas Cup and the 28th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF). The tournament were played at Ceres Arena in Aarhus, Denmark. It is the first time that Denmark hosted the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup tournament and the first time this event was held in Europe since England 1982. The 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup (officially known as the 2018 BWF Thomas & Uber Cup) was the 30th edition of the Thomas Cup and the 27th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF). The 2016 Thomas & Uber Cup was the 29th tournament of the Thomas Cup and 26th tournament of the Uber Cup, the premier badminton team championships for men and women respectively. It was held at the Kunshan Sports Centre in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, China. Host city selection Jakarta and Kunshan submitted bids for this championships, the same situation as the bid for 2015 BWF World Championships. 2014 Thomas & Uber Cup
The 2014 Thomas & Uber Cup was the 28th tournament of the Thomas Cup and 25th tournament of the Uber Cup, the badminton team championships for men and women respectively. It was held on 18–25 May 2014 at the Siri Fort Sports Complex in New Delhi, India. This is the first time India hosted the two cups. The Thomas Cup final featured two teams not expected to make it there as Japan faced Malaysia. In a back-and-forth contest, Japan came out on top by a score of 3 matches to 2, winning their first Thomas Cup. The Uber Cup final featured the top two teams, China and Japan. Backed by wins from the world's top two singles players, China came out on top by a 3–1 score. It was their 13th title overall. The 2012 Thomas & Uber Cup was the 27th tournament of the Thomas Cup and 24th international badminton tournament of the Uber Cup. It was held from May 20–27, 2012 at the Wuhan Sports Center Stadium in Wuhan, China. Host city selection Jakarta (Indonesia) and Wuhan (China) submitted bids for the competition. Wuhan was announced as the host by BWF after a meeting in Qingdao during the 2011 Sudirman Cup. The 2010 Thomas & Uber Cup was the 26th tournament of the Thomas Cup and 23rd tournament of the Uber Cup, the most important and most prestigious badminton tournaments in men's and women's team competition, respectively. The 2010 championships marked the Thomas & Uber Cup's 10 year return to Malaysia which has always seen great fan interest in the sport. The final rounds were held from May 9 to May 16 at Putra Indoor Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which was also the same venue of the 2000 Thomas & Uber Cup, when Indonesia get their 12th title in the Thomas Cup after defeat China by 3–0 in the final. 2006 Thomas & Uber Cup
The 2006 Thomas & Uber Cup was held from 28 April to 7 May in Sendai and Tokyo, Japan. It was the 24th tournament of Thomas Cup and 21st tournament of Uber Cup, men's and women's badminton tournaments. Sendai hosted all of the group stage and play-off matches while Tokyo hosted the event starting from the quarter finals until the final. This was first time the Thomas & Uber Cup was played with a three-game 21-point scoring system.
